This plugin is really very very good and makes importing SVN repos very simple and fast, but it has two annoying problems: * It doesn't saves the user mapping to be used for multiple imports. We have to fix the mappings manually for several users on every import. * It doesn't preserve history on moved/copied folders within svn (SVN still knows the history). That's making restructuring SVN upfront quite hard. ---- Thanks for your answer. With history I mean, that the svn commit history (or logs) is mostly also available from git/stash after the conversion. But when you want to restructure your repository to be more "migration friendly" through moving/copying branches than the history will be lost in git/stash and the only commit in git available is the time of moving the branch. Within svn it is still possible to browse the whole history. Would be nice to preserve this commit history too.

Hello Adrian,

Thank you for feedback! Regarding authors mapping - we'll address this issue in the future versions of the plugin.

As for the history of copied folders - Git doesn't have means to store this information. Do you mean that you'd like this information be stored somewhere aside of Git commit, e.g. in commit notes?

Great work, easy to configure, it works well, but it has an issue: - Just after merging your branch into master using an Stash "pull request" the branch is removed from Git but no from SVN. - And after some seconds, the branch is again there, in Stash, may be because it has been sycnrhonized from SVN. Please fix this issue and you'll get a 4 star rating :)

Thank you for review and kind words! Regarding the issue, it is a known one, you may track the progress on fixing it here: http://issues.tmatesoft.com/issue/SG-72 The problem is that Stash doesn't notify our plugin on branch creation or deletion, and as result SubGit has no information on that operation. When the next sync starts, SubGit rolls Git repository back to the state which strictly corresponds to current SVN state. The workaround is to push branch deletion from your local repository. We apologize for the inconvenience, we're also going to contact Stash team in order to fix the problem in future versions of plugin and Stash.

Works well and very useful for migrations and situations where you need to have both repos working simultaneously.

Nice plugin, makes the transition from SVN to Git easy. That said, version 2.0.6 died when we tried importing a SVN repo of about 100k revisions. The plugin got halfway through when it stopped, then displayed version numbers in what looked like hexidecimal. Stash version was v2.9.1.

Hello Andrew, It's a pity to know that add-on didn't work well for you. One of the reasons for translation to take unexpectedly long time is branches mapping that doesn't correspond to the actual Subversion project structure. Could you provide more details on the configuration you were using? Please contact us at support@subgit.com Thanks!

More details

SVN Mirror Add-On for Stash mirrors existing Subversion project into Stash Git repository. You may choose to keep Git and Subversion in sync or perform a one-time import.

Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How do upgrades and renewals work?

You can upgrade your Atlassian host product license to increase the user tier for add-on licenses any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula, and are automatically reflected in your cart. View an example of the JIRA upgrade price matrix here.

Add-on licences for downloaded Atlassian products are perpetual. Your original purchase includes 12 months of maintenance. To continue receiving upgrades and support after the initial 12 months, you can renew your maintenance for 50% of the original purchase price. You can purchase maintenance for up to 36 additional months at any time.

OnDemand add-on subscriptions renew each month and can be canceled any time.

How do I determine my pricing tier?

Choose the same user tier you pay for in the Atlassian host application. For example, if you have a JIRA download license for 25 users, you should purchase this tier.

Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your host application license, the two licenses should match exactly.

What's the difference between OnDemand and download pricing?

Just like your Atlassian host application, there are two pricing models. Pick the model that matches your Atlassian product, and the same rules apply:

OnDemand:
Subscriptions renew every month
Add-ons and instances are hosted by Atlassian
Download:
Licenses last forever, support and upgrades last for 12 months
Instances and add-ons are hosted on your servers
Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

Add-on purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host application.

Add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Do you offer enterprise pricing?

Choose enterprise pricing if your Atlassian host application is billed for enterprise licenses.

Enterprise pricing includes 24/7 phone and email support, access to training through Atlassian University, and other perks. Learn more.

Can I extend my free trial?

You can extend your add-on trial up to 5 times – in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Free Trial and you'll be directed to generate a license at MyAtlassian. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host application, and you're all set.

Alternatively, if you remove your expiring trial license from your Atlassian host application, you can re-add it back for another free trial.

What are legacy pricing tiers?

If you bought your Atlassian host application during or before February 2012, you qualify for legacy pricing tiers.

  • JIRA tiers are 10, 25, 50, and 100 users. The legacy unlimited tier was 100+ users.
  • The Confluence legacy tiers are 10, 25, 50, 100, 500, and 2000 users. The unlimited legacy tier was 2000+ users.
  • There are no enterprise licenses prior to and including February 2012.
