This plugin has been tremendously powerful for us, and we've just mastered a part of what it's capable of. We use it to automate our our submission process. Sales reps enter all the details of a new ecommerce development project into a custom form. That creates an issue with a custom workflow. The workflow contains over 30 post functions. Each of the post functions creates an issue based on the input and assigns it to an employee. By automating the process, we've achieved a number of goals: 1. Faster start to the project 2. More information is sent to the employees doing the work 3. Sales reps input orders in a fraction of the time 4. Far less time is spent creating the projects 5. Reduces miscommunicaton between employees and customers 6. Cuts the time explaining the projects to the developers. All of this improves customer and employee satisfaction and saves money. I will say there's a pretty stiff learning curve getting a custom workflow set up. Also a stiff learning curve to master the CLI actions. However, if you have repititve processes that can be automated, this is an awesome tool. Finally, all say the support from Bob has been outstanding. He's always responded quickly to my questions. He even created a new feature when I suggested an important feature. Give it a try!

No detailed documentation available. No explanation for examples. cloneProject action doesn't work generating error: Remote error: (503)Service Unavailable. Would be nice for free but too poorly documented for commercial product.

Hi Ilya. Thanks for your note. We always appreciate thoughtful feedback. It sounds like you may not have come across some of the more detailed docs that we've published for Run CLI Actions in JIRA. Many of these links can be found on the new "Get Started" panel within the "Manage add-ons" section of your installation. Here are a few direct links you may find helpful:

Hope you find these helpful. We have also created a new support ticket for the error you mentioned. Feel free to watch it and share more details with us there. Most likely cause for this is not having your JIRA instance's "Accept remote API Calls" configuration enabled. Thanks again!

This is a really useful add-on when it works properly. License issues with the necessary connector mean we cannot continue using it until we hear back from support. Per the install documentation, the connector is free provided we have a valid license for the 'Run CLI Actions' add-on. However, the install documentation, like much of the rest of the product documentation, is not very clear. Good idea, but seems like poor execution. A worthy investment if you have some time to burn getting it to work properly and trying a bunch of stuff out on your own.

The license problem was answered in this question: https://bobswift.atlassian.net/wiki/display/JCLI/questions/112099678. We continue to work on improving the documentation.

Very useful, but IMHO, OAUTH Authentication is a"must have" https://bobswift.atlassian.net/browse/ACLI-191

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. For JIRA Server 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed JIRA products on your instance. For example, if you're running JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 50-user tier for apps. For versions of JIRA Server prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for JIRA. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your JIRA license, the two licenses should match exactly.Note: While this app has features specific to JIRA Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole JIRA instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server apps, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host product. Server apps are always free for community and open-source licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian host product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
