We have identified a fundamental bug with the product, whereby, if someone alters the page after approval has been initiated, then the next approval given will give the page an approved status, even if there are other approvals outstanding. Naturally, this has caused a lot of frustration with the team (at all levels). We contacted the vendor on a number of occasions; they advised a fix would be provided in an upcoming release on 2 occasions, neither of which was delivered. This defect fundamentally undermines the integrity of this plug-in. Unfortunately, the support has not been useful.

Vendor response

Simon, Sorry for not getting back to you before and for the frustration caused in your team by the problem with subsequent updates after partial approvals. Also apologies for not responding before to your earliest request in our ticketing system. The issue you mention was addressed on version 4.3.4, released on January 22 2014. I wish we could have released the fix before, but it turned out to be more complicated and we had other fixes half way. Were you able to test version 4.3.4? Do you still have the problem? If so, let me know and I will look into it right away. The description in the release notes may not have been that clear ('When a page with approvals or rejections is edited...') I will make sure we provide better descriptions and follow up. To improve our response times, we are in the process of updating our ticketing and escalation processes, to make sure nothing falls through the cracks. Once again, sorry for not providing you with the service you deserve. We pride ourselves for providing the best service, and if we fail, we take it seriously. I have your personal contact information, I will contact you directly to follow up. Roberto Dominguez, Founder & CEO

The best plugin so far for confluence that I have come across. This is helping keep pages approved across the company making sure not only are the programing documents correct, but the KB and Department spaces with approved information only being shown to the end user. Keep up the good work! Excellent support as well!

Ad hoc Workflows, canvas and lists are awesome and revolutionarily handy These three plugins are awesome and well thought of! They are robust and work without bugs (that I know of). I especially like the integration with metadata (scaffolding). I hope Comalatech keeps up the good job!

This plugin is amazingly powerful and configurable. It's saved the day for us on multiple occasions, and has allowed us to grow and extend our permissions model. Love it.

Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How do upgrades and renewals work?

You can upgrade your Atlassian host product license to increase the user tier for add-on licenses any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula, and are automatically reflected in your cart. View an example of the JIRA upgrade price matrix here.

Add-on licences for downloaded Atlassian products are perpetual. Your original purchase includes 12 months of maintenance. To continue receiving upgrades and support after the initial 12 months, you can renew your maintenance for 50% of the original purchase price. You can purchase maintenance for up to 36 additional months at any time.

OnDemand add-on subscriptions renew each month and can be canceled any time.

How do I determine my pricing tier?

Choose the same user tier you pay for in the Atlassian host application. For example, if you have a JIRA download license for 25 users, you should purchase this tier.

Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your host application license, the two licenses should match exactly.

What's the difference between OnDemand and download pricing?

Just like your Atlassian host application, there are two pricing models. Pick the model that matches your Atlassian product, and the same rules apply:

Subscriptions renew every month
Add-ons and instances are hosted by Atlassian
Licenses last forever, support and upgrades last for 12 months
Instances and add-ons are hosted on your servers
Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

Add-on purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host application.

Add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Do you offer enterprise pricing?

Choose enterprise pricing if your Atlassian host application is billed for enterprise licenses.

Enterprise pricing includes 24/7 phone and email support, access to training through Atlassian University, and other perks. Learn more.

Can I extend my free trial?

You can extend your add-on trial up to 5 times – in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Free Trial and you'll be directed to generate a license at MyAtlassian. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host application, and you're all set.

Alternatively, if you remove your expiring trial license from your Atlassian host application, you can re-add it back for another free trial.

What are legacy pricing tiers?

If you bought your Atlassian host application during or before February 2012, you qualify for legacy pricing tiers.

  • JIRA tiers are 10, 25, 50, and 100 users. The legacy unlimited tier was 100+ users.
  • The Confluence legacy tiers are 10, 25, 50, 100, 500, and 2000 users. The unlimited legacy tier was 2000+ users.
  • There are no enterprise licenses prior to and including February 2012.
