Upgrade to 3.1 from 2.2.2 version caused reset of more than 5000 Confluence spaces. Also there is no solution suggested in your documentation to handle this issue https://support.communardo.de/display/KB/Spaces+are+reset+after+migration+from+2.2.2+to+3.1.1 blocking our Confluence upgrade. Is there a workaround for this issue other than your suggested approach of recreating the structure?

    Hi Srinivas,

I tried to get in contact with you via a support issue:

    https://jira.communardo.de/servicedesk/customer/portal/2/SCP-8739

Here are instructions on the registration in our customer portal:

    https://support.communardo.de/display/KB/Set+Profile+Language+to+English

To provide you with a direct solution, I have updated the knowledge base article:

    https://support.communardo.de/display/KB/Spaces+are+reset+after+migration+from+2.2.2+to+3.1.1

Essentially you will need to recreate the structure to a certain extend, if your situation is the one described in the article.

    I hope it still helps!

If you have any other support issues, just contact us via our customer portal:

I really like this add on, especially with spaces being less contiguous/hierarchical in the new Confluence. This makes Confluence look and feel more like an organized intranet which is what we want. Recommendations - provide an option to theme or resize the menu bar or the folders. Also, dragging and dropping content to reorder the menu hierarchy can be frustrating and that should be smoothed out.

Like this plugin - definitely adds value to Confluence! Great work. Dropped a * because the lack of breadcrumbs and lack of ability to use the menu macro in the sidebar is disappointing - as this would provide a complete navigation feature set.

    Hi,

Thanks for helping us make a better add-on!

I have voted for the existing requirement to re-introduce breadcrumbs on your behalf:

With version with 3.1 we introduced the Navigation macro: https://support.communardo.de/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=58859017

If you are not aware of it yet, please check it out. If this is not what you had in mind, please shoot us a support request and we'll look into it.

I was using the Plugin Version 2.2.2 and really liked the features provided. As I was testing the new Version 3.1.0 I have to say that the plugin administration improved, espacially creating subspaces. The look and feel actually declined though... The reason for this are the missing subspaced breadcrumbs and the italic highlighting in the menu bar, which indicated the hierarchy of the spaces.. I didn't find any description of these features in the new documentation so I guess those features don't exist anymore? (Please correct me if I'm wrong) All in all I have to say that the pricing (compared to the free version 2.2.2) is not really justified and I'll keep using the older version as long as I can...

    Hello Marcel,

Thanks for your review! It is correct that these features are not part of version 3.0 and later.

I have raised improvement requests for SubSpace Navigation for Confluence over here and voted for them on your behalf:

We take these requests very seriously. The comments they receive (like the one I just created) help us to gauge public interest and assist us in allocating resources for future development.

Thank you for using our add-on.

Wish you could bring back the ability to disable top menu navigation! With the number of spaces over 1K it adds ~30 seconds to *each* page loading time. Otherwise it is a great add-on and worth of trying it, just not applicable for large enterprises.

    Hello Yevgen,

    Thank you for your feedback!

We will look into the performance and have created an issue for this purpose:

    https://jira.communardo.de/browse/CSSP-398

However we also recommend structuring the navigation in a purposeful way, so that spaces and jumping-off points that are important for the whole company are linked there. It is not intended to hold entries in the thousands.

Finally, I have voted on your behalf for an existing suggestion to make the navigation hideable:

    https://jira.communardo.de/browse/CSSP-328

    Thanks for using our app!

    Kind regards,

I think this plugin is great. I have a few recommendations: 1) Allow integration with Confluence Questions. It would be great to use CQL to list popular questions, recent questions in a dynamic menu based on topics, etc. 2) Allow placement of the livesearch macro in the menu. Other than that, it's great!

Great plugin. We are using it since the first day of using Confluence. It helps us to organize our project and department spaces. One disappointing thing about new version: User could not add project space as subspace of our parent project space. As i understand, now it needs to ask Administrator to change navigation bar. And second issue: we have more than 50 projects space now, and this list unscrollable because when you scroll, the page starting scrolling and navigation bar sticked on the top. Bottom project links is unaccessable.

    Hello Aleksey,

thank you for yor review - we really appreciate it!

With removing the option to create subspaces for Space Admins we are respecting global permissions of Confluence which can be defined in your Confluence Administration.

Regarding your second point would you be so kind and create an issue. Please provide us some screenshots and your Confluence version. Also please let us know, if this behaviour is only appearing in a certain browser. If so, please let us know which one. We are looking forward helping you!

We use this plugin as long as we use confluence and we were always happy with it. The license change to an commercial license is also ok, especially because the plugin is now verified by atlassian so we don't have to worry about compatibility issues when upgrading (or at least we can contact the support). We also got an 100% voucher so we only have to pay the further support the next years. The only negative thing is that the "sub space macro" is missing since version 3.0, but the support team has already mentioned that such a macro will be part of the next release again.

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Confluence Cloud apps are priced based on the number of Confluence users on your instance. For example, if you have Confluence Cloud (25 users), you pay the 25-user price for apps.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

If you've opted for annual billing for your Atlassian product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. The app tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian product. For example, if you have a Confluence license for 500 users, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Atlassian product license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Can I install this app in a Data Center product?

Yes, this app has a Data Center approved version. If you're using a Data Center product, you should install the Data Center version of the app.

Learn more about Data Center approved apps

What type of license do I need if I'm using this app in a Data Center product?

Because this app has a Data Center approved version, you should purchase a Data Center license for the app.

If you already own a server license for this app, you can continue using the server license in your Data Center product for a limited period of time.

Learn more about Data Center licensing

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for server apps?

For server apps, academic licenses are available at a 50% discount if you have an academic license for your Atlassian product.

Community and open-source licenses are available for server apps. Learn more about community and open source licenses.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
