I trialed this add-on a few months ago. I used Deviniti's customer support to explain my problems and what my, personal, expectations for Issue Templates for Jira. I was very pleased to see that Deviniti added my Feature Request to their list of tasks and have updated the add-on to cater to my needs. This is gold dust. Deviniti is an exceptional add-on developer who is, at this time of writing, continually improving the add-on to match our needs (as long as we, the users, convey our needs in a constructive way).

The getting started documentation appears to be at least one generation of Jira behind the times. That's pretty bad, considering that there is a beta program for a newer one. None of the documentation matches my experience at all and I was never even able to get started. Not sure if this plugin is still in active development so I guess I'll find another solution.

I had issues getting this plugin to work, I tried working with them to fix the issues I was seeing and they would ask one question at a time, one day at a time (it was extremely tedious). Over a month later I was still no closer to getting their plugin to work correctly, then when I closed the ticket out of frustration with the lack of effort to help resolve the issues they wrote me an email saying that they did nothing wrong and my issue was not a priority for them (basically calling me a liar). They never once tried a go-to-meeting to view my issues, apparently they just don't care about their customers. I found another vendor that has a plugin that offers the same functionality and is better implemented, and they worked with me the day after I reported some issues and enhancements to improve their plugin, they didn't blame the customer like Divinti does. Do yourself a favor and go with vendor that cares about supporting their product and making it better, and will listen to their customers. I gave them one star but that is even generous.

Feels halfway there.. 1. No quick access to create issue from template 2. No autocomplete as in the self hosted server version of the plugin 3. Feels as the docs are missing alot?

    Hi Markus,

Thank you for your feedback. We’ve already published a new version of Issue Templates for Jira Cloud app. You can also find updated documentation on our website.

According to your complain about quick access to create issue from template, please find an answer in our documentation.

According to the autocomplete feature, we don’t use this terminology, but it works the same. Using Create from template form, select template which will be applied to your new issue.

In case of any questions, problems or doubts, don’t hesitate to contact us via email or schedule a meeting via calendly.

    Best regards,

Unfortunately I have to agree with the previous low ratings: - Documentation is horrible. Has a lot of typos, missing key information - You can't create a new issue using the actual new issue UI you have to use a custom button in the nav and retrain your teams (this should be mentioned in the description, I was mislead thinking it could do what I need) If I'm wrong, I'll change my review, but until then it's staying at 1 star. Prove me wrong!

Has much potential but support for customer portal (Jira Service Desk) is limited. Dynamic Variables do not work in the portal. Also selecting a default template per customor request type does not work. Customer support is fast! Both features are on the backlog but not to be expected before the end of the year (2018)

    Hi Desmond,

Thank you for your review. We are aware of the limitations on the customer portal although we're planning to improve it soon. All of the features you mentioned are already on our roadmap that's why we encourage you to keep track of the upcoming releases. For sure you'll find it useful!

Pros: Immensely timesaving and beneficial if you are constantly creating similar issues with 5+ subtasks. Configuration is highly customizable. It works fast and compatibility has not been an issue. Cons: Documentation is HORRIBLE. Their "wizard" doesn't work. You *will* spend at least 3 hours trying to configure this thing, it is insane. It is worth the time but don't get into this unless you are ready to figure out a lot and are a little tech savvy.

I had an issue where Templates were not populating. After an online session, it appeared to be that inline images confused it. We worked thru a few options and now it works as advertised. Great support !

In our company we have a number of issues repeated over and over so the add-on is great facilitation for our work. It's also a nice that templates can be customized to duplicate subtasks or issues in epic. Without doubt a good product.

At first I had some problems with subtasks - couldn't get it work, but they quickly helped me with that (Remember to always add a postfunction yo your workflow!) Right now templates save tons of our time - allow to create issues with 10 subtasks at once and customize them by adding variables. The plugin quickly became essential in our work. Really recommend it

Its good, except for one Huge FLAW. You can not copy links from templates. Which renders this useless to many. So for example if you have several Subtasks that you want one to block another, you can not. You better off creating issues as "TEMPLATES" then use the clone native option in JIRA which gives you the ability to copy the Links

Hi Ahmed, I assume that you use Cloud version. I agree that it would be great to have subtasks linking one another and we are adding it to our roadmap. I will update you as soon as it's ready.

This is exactly what I was looking for. New way of issue creation on JIRA Cloud works perfect. I just have one suggestion: please provide german translation for this plugin as we have mainly German users in our Jira.

    Pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud apps are sold as a monthly or annual subscription. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for licensing across maximum users still apply.

The pricing structure for cloud apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 Atlassian product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.

If you've opted for annual billing for your Atlassian product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses for cloud apps?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. This app is sold as a perpetual license, and the purchase price includes 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your Atlassian product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your Atlassian product. For Jira 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (500 users) and Jira Service Desk (25 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 500-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly. Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

Can I extend my free trial?

Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
