Toggl Integration for JIRA — your integrated time tracking

Toggl Integration for JIRA — your integrated time tracking

Start & Stop Toggl within an issue

    Toggl records with meaningful names

Convert your existing Toggl entries into worklogs

When you start Toggl within an issue, a time entry is created in your Toggl account, which contains issue key and summary. When you stop it, a worklog is added to the JIRA issue

You will always have time entries in the Toggl with the JIRA issue key and summary. This way you can be sure to never forget what exactly you were working on

You can check which entries from the Toggl were not added to JIRA as worklogs. Useful when using Toggl Desktop app, since it stops and starts the timer automatically when your machine is idle

Plugin works great for us and make us use Toggl to track time and at the same time have full control of each issue in JIRA with estimated time and acctual time. Sync runs fast, and when JIRA issue is correct in Toggl, match is allways found and synced without having to manualy connect hours to issues. Fast support if any issues, and writer of plugin also added new features on our request to handle different workspaces in Toggl better. This is worth trying to get the maximum out of the benefits of both JIRA and Toggl

Very useful tool! We were using Toggl before the Jira plugin was available. Now it is much easier for our team to track their time on the right project with the correct description. The developer is very responsive to our requests and has helped us a lot with some features we needed. There are still some things which need to be refined (e.g. Toggl synch page could use some bulk actions like selecting multiple items and add them at once or general basic table features like sorting etc.) but I am sure that the Toggl DEV team is already behind that.

My team and I have been using this plugin for about 5 months now and I absolutely love it. It makes tracking our time a very painless process and has led to a 23% improvement in my teams billing rates because they are no longer missing the little 5min fixes that tend to get lost when they have to go into multiple systems. This plugin easily pays for itself every month. Besides the plugin itself I have to mention how awesome the developer on this plugin is. Since starting to use this we have made 2 fairly complicated requests to the developer for new feature development. They have been extremely responsive to us and welcoming of our ideas. In both cases the features were developed and deployed in about a week. I have never had such great customer service from a plugin developer. You guys have won a customer for life.

There are several critical issues with this plugin that: - The data this plugin syncs is always incorrect. We're usually missing between 1 hour of time and 5 hours of time. - When starting the timer from tickets, the timer starts with a negative time value (-1:-1:-1). - If an error occurs trying to find a ticket that matches your time entries (possibly because you freelance for multiple companies that use both Toggl + JIRA), you get a barrage of error messages down the right side of the screen instead of something intelligent like just marking the time entry fields on the Toggl Sync entry screen with an error.

Thank goodness for this app. I love using Toggl but really dislike using Jira for time tracking. This app works really well to track time in Toggl because it auto syncs to tickets inside of Jira. No need to spend much time in Jira. Really great app for creative people and web designers. The support staff were super helpful as well, making refinements and fixes to meet my personal criteria. They responded really quickly and polite.

    Pricing

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does cloud add-on pricing work?

Cloud pricing is subscription based. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, your pricing tier for host products and add-ons is automatically adjusted (as necessary) based on the number of users in your instance.

If you've opted for annual billing for your host product, add-ons are also billed annually. Annual subscriptions for this add-on include a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

If add-on pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing tier?

The cloud add-on tier is set automatically based on the maximum tier of the licensed JIRA applications on your instance. For example, if you have JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, your add-on tier is 50 users.

Note: While this add-on has features specific to JIRA Service Desk, the add-on is technically available across the whole JIRA instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server add-ons, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host application. Server add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses. Cloud add-ons do not have discounted or free licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud add-ons, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud add-ons are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the add-on.

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server add-on pricing work?

Server products and add-ons are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and add-on licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If add-on pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing tier?

For JIRA Server 7.0 or later, the add-on tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed JIRA applications on your instance. For example, if you're running JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 50-user tier for add-ons.

For versions of JIRA Server prior to 7.0, the add-on tier should match the licensed user tier for JIRA. Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your JIRA license, the two licenses should match exactly.

For server add-ons, you can extend your add-on trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host application, and you're all set.

How can I buy add-ons for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy add-on pricing is no longer available. You have two options for add-on purchasing:

    • Purchase the add-on at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the add-on at the same tier.
