This is a great product, it makes collaboration over features and scenarios a reality by introducing a medium that's accessible to all while offering a workflow that takes a team from story inception through technical implementation and CI. It's what has been missing from BDD and is something that will make it's adoption and use much smoother. In addition - The support provided by Alan and his team behind this product is excellent.

Excellent add-on. We enjoy using it as a team and are looking forward to its continued evolution to ensure it remains easy to manage as we create a large base of BDD scenarios. Getting people to write scenarios is tough enough so having it directly in JIRA is critical to BDD adoption. Additionally, the team behind the add-on is responsive and open to feedback.

We implemented Behave Pro middle of last year. It was tremendously easy to implement and use. We integrated with our full Serenity/Cucumber implementation. Together with Jira, it was easy to use and leveraged the knowledge the team. Most of all, there is a direct channel to communicate with the team behind the application. Alan and Team responded to request and questions. I highly recommend this add on and look forward to the evolution of the software.

I have implemented Behave Pro for a couple of clients, so I can only talk about technical side, leaving business side to actual users. Previous version that ran on a standalone appliance was a challenge to set up, but the support I received from Behave Pro folks was awesome. They spent hours chatting with me and helping troubleshoot the issues I was running into. New version of Behave Pro that is now available in form of add-on via Atlassian Marketplace makes install a breeze, so I could get it up and running in minutes. Data migration from Appliance (and from Cloud) was a challenge, but Alan and team worked hard to provide a migration tool and address issues on the fly. As a result, I was able to migrate data seamlessly within minutes. So, I highly recommend this add-on to anyone who has a business case for using it (and anyone who wants to do BDD the right way should be interested) because I know that I will always get the best support in case there are any issues.

We have found Behave Pro to be an enormously helpful tool in the application of BDD practices within our team. The ability to quickly create features and scenarios means that we write these directly into the system in real time as part of our collaborative amigo sessions, and being able to assign these quickly & easily to JIRA issues means that our refinement sessions can be used to adjust the scope of the deliverable stories as they are being discussed, again in real time. A real saving in terms of process and iteration. I would also commend Alan & the team at Behave Pro; they have been generous with their time and helped us understand how to get the most out of the product (especially the session based testing features that we have adopted wholesale on the back of our conversations with Alan), as well as listening to our ideas and requirements and implementing new features & enhancements that really make the product work for us. Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud pricing is subscription based. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for host products and apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. JIRA Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the JIRA products on your instance. For example, if you have JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.

The pricing structure for cloud products and apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 host product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.
    • If per-user pricing is not yet available for this app, please contact the vendor for further information.

If you've opted for annual billing for your host product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. For JIRA Server 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed JIRA products on your instance. For example, if you're running JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 50-user tier for apps. For versions of JIRA Server prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for JIRA. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your JIRA license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server apps, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host product. Server apps are always free for community and open-source licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian host product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
