Caches rendered data to improve page display performance and reduce load on the server

Improved display performance!

Index external content

Future macro

Cached content displays immediately so users do not have to wait for expensive rendering of complex macros or accessing external data like SQL queries. Reduces server load by avoiding excessive rendering requests.

Cached content can optionally be added to the Confluence search index. This means that users can find material included from SQL queries or other external sources.

The new Future macro renders the body in the background allowing the rest of the page content to display immediately. It is used to improve display performance when pages contain longer running macros. Watch the video!

Can we get an extension on our trial? The PO seems to be held up somewhere as the full license is not in MyAtlassian.

The CACHE plugin is a great companion to the SQL plugin. It can cache results, so that frequently-accessed data appears instantly! The configuration options are great, such as specifying cron-like timing for when the cache should be refreshed. For some examples of how we've used it at Atlassian, see: http://bit.ly/howto-report

This macro makes it simple to speed up pages with slow-performing and often infrequently-updating macros. We use it all the time!

Caches the rendered contents of the body of this macro. Useful when using macros that might be slow to render content, but where it does not really need to be dynamically generated for each and every request. Specifically, this can improve performance for accessing dynamic data from SQL, Excel, Script and similar macros. Cache will be refreshed if the body of the macro changes or if there are attachment changes. The cache applies to all users that view the page. The cached content can optionally be indexed for Confluence search.

New: The Future macro renders the macro body in the background allowing the rest of the page content to display immediately. It is used to improve display performance when pages contain longer running rendering macros. This is an extension of an older, unsupported macro provided by Atlassian. Now fully supported and moving forward! The Future macro has been modernized, fixed, enhanced, and included with the Cache Plugin for Confluence.

Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How do upgrades and renewals work?

You can upgrade your Atlassian host product license to increase the user tier for add-on licenses any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula, and are automatically reflected in your cart. View an example of the JIRA upgrade price matrix here.

Add-on licences for downloaded Atlassian products are perpetual. Your original purchase includes 12 months of maintenance. To continue receiving upgrades and support after the initial 12 months, you can renew your maintenance for 50% of the original purchase price. You can purchase maintenance for up to 36 additional months at any time.

OnDemand add-on subscriptions renew each month and can be canceled any time.

How do I determine my pricing tier?

Choose the same user tier you pay for in the Atlassian host application. For example, if you have a JIRA download license for 25 users, you should purchase this tier.

Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your host application license, the two licenses should match exactly.

What's the difference between OnDemand and download pricing?

Just like your Atlassian host application, there are two pricing models. Pick the model that matches your Atlassian product, and the same rules apply:

OnDemand:
Subscriptions renew every month
Add-ons and instances are hosted by Atlassian
Download:
Licenses last forever, support and upgrades last for 12 months
Instances and add-ons are hosted on your servers
Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

Add-on purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host application.

Add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Do you offer enterprise pricing?

Choose enterprise pricing if your Atlassian host application is billed for enterprise licenses.

Enterprise pricing includes 24/7 phone and email support, access to training through Atlassian University, and other perks. Learn more.

Can I extend my free trial?

You can extend your add-on trial up to 5 times – in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Free Trial and you'll be directed to generate a license at MyAtlassian. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host application, and you're all set.

Alternatively, if you remove your expiring trial license from your Atlassian host application, you can re-add it back for another free trial.

What are legacy pricing tiers?

If you bought your Atlassian host application during or before February 2012, you qualify for legacy pricing tiers.

  • JIRA tiers are 10, 25, 50, and 100 users. The legacy unlimited tier was 100+ users.
  • The Confluence legacy tiers are 10, 25, 50, 100, 500, and 2000 users. The unlimited legacy tier was 2000+ users.
  • There are no enterprise licenses prior to and including February 2012.
