    More details

Personal repositories are a useful tool, but if you are responsible for your company’s repository, especially if your user pool frequently changes, because freelance developers come and go, you may not want this for everybody.

Private repositories are not that easy to control from the administrator’s perspective: It is difficult to monitor how much space each user consumes for his personal repositories or to clean-up abandoned repositories of users who are no longer part of the organization. This can lead to large amounts of wasted disk space and unnecessarily large backup files on your Bitbucket server.

WITH PERSONAL REPOSITORIES FOR BITBUCKET SERVER YOU CAN:

    • Globally allow or deny the creation of personal repositories
    • Create exceptions for groups and single users
    • Monitor disk space usage per user and per personal repository
    • Easily browse personal and sort lists of personal repositories on your system
    • Find and delete no longer used personal repositories, even from deactivated users.

This is undeniably very useful functionality. It should be included in Bitbucket Server itself. Unfortunately the plugin doesn't work for us since v1.0.10 when the license was disabled. We had an evaluation license installed which had expired (because we were just about to purchase it!). Now when you go to the Personal Repositories admin page it says "There's a problem with your license. It seems your license expired. You can renew it in the plugin manager.". However there is obviously no way now to renew the license. It would be great if you can fix this.

In our Enterprise we needed a solution to deny private Repositories for external users that work with us together. This was a compliance request. With this plugin we found the best approach. We LIKE! :)
