Jirassimo has usefull functions to send emails for our daily review.... I would love to have a forum site or community users directly from jirassimo site so we can share ideas, problems and solutions, since people on Inversion Point is too busy to help when we send support emails and we need to find answers sooner or projects get late...

A very welcomed feature addition to our Jira system, on paper, however there are some issues and shortcomings with the administration/configuration: * Buggy template editor, not easy to get it right when doing more than simple formatting. I tried adding a table but it proved very difficult to combine table header above #foreach with rows inside the #foreach using WYSIWYG editor. I found the "Tools > Source code" where you get to edit the raw template, but when I used it to put table header above #foreach, table rows within and table end-tag after #end, it was automatically changed to having the entire table inside the #foreach. One more time: changes to raw source code was mangled (presumably by the WYSIWIG editor). Totally useless. * Limited documentation/cookbook. Screenshots on marketplace listing shows list of issues formatted using tables, however there are no examples on how to get it to work. * Limited testing. You can select only 1 issue when testing a messenger configuration. I want to see the full email result with all issues based on the JQL as defined in the config. This is particularly useful when you use #if statements for display logic based on issue statuses. I tried setting the crontab to 1 minute in the future, but the scheduler seems to ignore minutes/seconds and run the messenger at full hour only. Effectively you can only test it once per hour - completely unacceptable. Could take days to get a template right. * Template editor is really messy. Any line-breaks to make the template code more readable adds a "<br/>" tag which means the final email has a lot of uninteantional line-breaks and it just doesnt look good. When combining #foreach and #if you have to put them on the same line to resolve this, but that is hard to read and maintain. You have to chose between admin-friendly template-code OR user-friendly email layouts. We should have both. Fix these issues and its a 3/4 star.

Hi Geir and thanks for a comprehensive feedback. Now, step-by-step:

    • Showing data in table. Existing tinyMCE provides means to create a table, but that would work only when there's no iteration involved, i.e. number of rows is known in advance and cells contain either hard-coded data or placeholders from issue. As I understood, you need to create a table with dynamic number of rows. If so, please see our guide on how to achieve that here
    • Testing on multiple issues - we've just rolled out a new release 1.2.32-AC and it supports previewing of scheduled messenger based on JQL rule
    • Line breaks in template editor - this issue is also fixed

Thanks again for review. Please let me know if there's anything else we can improve.

I'm sure I could have found better use for this add-on if I had time to learn the templating language. To that affect, I'm an intermediate admin and I found the documentation filled with holes. Maybe next time.

Very helpful in resolving all issues raised, always return a solution with a short period of time. Add-ons have lots of funtionality and setting allowing flexibilty. Always looking for new functions to develop.

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud pricing is subscription based. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for host products and apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.

The pricing structure for cloud products and apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 host product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.
    • If per-user pricing is not yet available for this app, please contact the vendor for further information.

If you've opted for annual billing for your host product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. For Jira Server 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 50-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira Server prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server apps, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host product. Server apps are always free for community and open-source licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian host product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
