    • Add categories to your news. For example, you can chronologically read a news category overview of choice in the overview.
    • Use the Personal News Feed as a customized message overview. Just read news from the spaces that you are really interested in.
    • Mark your information as "sticky". The marked news is fixed at the top of the news stream and cannot be replaced by more recent news.
    • Keep employees in-the-know when it comes to important news. By declaring the news mandatory, it must then be confirmed by the user as "read".

    If you're using your Confluence as a central place to store your company's information, this app is a very good addition. You can easily publish and share corporate and local news for your employees.

    This app is crucial for corporate organizations that to share news across departments, teams or from a global level. Including the Custom User Profile and Linchpin Manager app allows you to make the news personal as well.

    Very useful and easy to use in Confluence. Brings scheduled publishing to blogs! Out of the box social features (likes and comments) in the news listings + teaser pictures for the news. I like it a lot!

    As we are trying to use Confluence not solely for technical documentation and concepts but as our central, corporate information hub and basically as our Intranet, it is also of great interest to publish company news within Confluence. To use Confluence as an Intranet solution, we use some of the add-ons provided by Seibert/Media's Linchpin add-on (Confluence-based Intranet). One of those add-ons is the so called Enterprise News Bundle. What makes Confluence great to publish news? 1. News are persistant: How should new employees know about things that have been announced before they actually started 2. News are central: We always informed people within our organization about news by sending emails to them. Every single person needed to archive those emails somehow him/herself if he/she wanted to be able to find it again later. Now we can present all our Corporate News centrally within Confluence. We still send notification emails about some news articles, however everyone always knows where to find the Corporate News. Furthermore it is possible to comment on those news, instead of replying to all within the organization. News can be easily found later on, be easily categorized, etc. 3. Distinguish between push/pull news: There can be mandatory news relevant and sent out to all employees, however there can be also news that are noteworthy, but maybe not of intereste for everyone. People within the organization can consume news categories they are interested in. Technically the Enterprise News Bundle uses the implied Blog feature of Confluence. Which means that each Confluence space can be used as a source for those news. There are additional information that can be provided for each news article to get the added-value that news offer compared to blog posts. The news can then be presented in different ways ... - as a list including title, category, space info, intro text, icons for likes/comments on news - as a so called cover-flow that can be centrally used on a page/dashboard and presents the news more in a magazine / picture style - show only news of a specific Confluence space or news category - let people select personal news of specific spaces they are interested in - ... many more In our organization we started with one simple Corporate News Space on its own, however we know that the add-on allows a lot more than that. We do not use its full potential at all by now, as introducing it also comes with some organizational changes and a change of the mindset within our organization. We are excited to learn more and more how to best use the Enterprise News Bundle within our organization and further improve our processes, to provide and consume corporate and departmental news. Suggested improvements * Improve the upload/usage of teaser images, e.g., allow to add teaser images directly within the "additional information" section + allow to cut them to the perfect fit * Allow to use central teaser images for regular news of the same kind, e.g., one teaser image for all "Security News". If updating the teaser image it'll update it for all, which guarantees a consistend look & feel Additional note: We are working a lot with the support-team of Seibert/Media as we are experimenting a lot with Confluence add-ons right now. I must say the support and collaboration is simply outstanding!

    How does server app pricing work?

    Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

    You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

    If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

    How do I determine my server pricing?

    Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. The app tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian host product. For example, if you have a Confluence Server license for 25 users, you should purchase the 25-user tier for apps. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your host product license, the two licenses should match exactly.

    Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

    For server apps, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host product. Server apps are always free for community and open-source licenses.

    Can I extend my free trial?

    For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian host product, and you're all set.

    How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

    If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.

    Several Bugfixes


    • Fixed a bug that sometimes showed the author's name in news feeds although it was set to be hidden
    • Fixed several issues with missing or double meta information lines when using the blog posts macro
    • Fixed a bug in the Personal News Feed macro that caused it to lose configuration options
    • Fixed a caching issue with MySQL databases
    • Fixed an issue concerning the web feed sections that made the user unable to save after deleting a section

    1. Log into your Confluence instance as an admin.
    2. Click the admin dropdown and choose Atlassian Marketplace. The Manage add-ons screen loads.
    3. Click Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page.
    4. Locate Enterprise News Bundle via search. The appropriate app version appears in the search results.
    5. Click Try free to begin a new trial or Buy now to purchase a license for Enterprise News Bundle. You're prompted to log into MyAtlassian. Enterprise News Bundle begins to download.
    6. Enter your information and click Generate license when redirected to MyAtlassian.
    7. Click Apply license. If you're using an older version of UPM, you can copy and paste the license into your Confluence instance.
