    The Scaffolding add-on is a powerful tool for Atlassian Confluence that allows creation of permanent templates and editable forms.

    Many macros are included which allow data to be entered into a form on a page. The data can then be manipulated, evaluated or compiled into reports.

    Scaffolding does this by enabling edits of specified sections on a page when viewed by a user with the proper edit permissions.

    I have reported a bug for version 6.2.5 on 8th September, which makes it impossible to save data, if the page contains special chars like "&". The issue has been confirmed by support on 17th September and a bug report has been created. Now, many weeks have passed and a number of new versions have been released since, but the issue is still present. As they keep the bug tracking completely hidden from the customers, I have absolutely no status on the issue and the changelogs are not very detailed either. It took me some time to realize, that they didn't downgrade their former Zendesk-Support to just plain e-mail, but running a Salesforce-Support on https://servicerocket.desk.com, where I can at least keep track of all my issues, no data-migration for old cases from Zendesk unfortunately. Given the company's name, you would expect super fast support, with snapshot releases for urgent issues and excellent communication. This is not the case, in fact it is the slowest rocket I have ever seen.

    The plugin itself is great. we love to use it. On the other hand the Customer Support really needs to be improved: It is now 2 weeks since I have reported a crucial Bug in the 7.1.0 version which breaks the functionality for the plugin. Still, the fix in under time estimation. We would like to have a more reactive and responsible support.

    Our service groups really appreciate these powerful and easy to handle forms for our institute! We are using Scaffolding since 3 years and it makes documentation in our intranet so much better and easier. Also beginners can handle everything in a few minutes! Thanks a lot for this great plugin!

    At NWEA we use the ServiceRocket Scaffolding plugin to create slide templates, which have become the centerpiece of our Product Operations demos. They're more flexible and extensible than Powerpoint, particularly because they allow tighter integration with our existing documentation on Confluence. Thanks ServiceRocket!

    How does server add-on pricing work?

    Server products and add-ons are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

    You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and add-on licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

    If add-on pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

    How do I determine my server pricing tier?

    The add-on tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian host application. For example, if you have a Confluence Server license for 25 users, you should purchase the 25-user tier for add-ons. Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your host application license, the two licenses should match exactly.

    Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

    Add-on purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host application. Add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses.

    Can I extend my free trial?

    For server add-ons, you can extend your add-on trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host application, and you're all set.

    How can I buy add-ons for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

    If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy add-on pricing is no longer available. You have two options for add-on purchasing:

    • Purchase the add-on at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the add-on at the same tier.

    ​Fixed a bug regarding list-data and user-options macros


    New in this release:

    • Fixed an issue where if the user hovers the mouse cursor over a list-data with user-options macro, a pop-up with an undefined error will be displayed.

    Other recent updates:

    • Improved license page UI to help users understand better the Dual Licensing feature.
    • Now compatible with the future release of Confluence 5.9.


    1. Log into your Confluence instance as an admin.
    2. Click the admin dropdown and choose Atlassian Marketplace. The Manage add-ons screen loads.
    3. Click Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page.
    4. Locate Scaffolding via search. The appropriate add-on version appears in the search results.
    5. Click Try free to begin a new trial or Buy now to purchase a license for Scaffolding. You're prompted to log into MyAtlassian. Scaffolding begins to download.
    6. Enter your information and click Generate license when redirected to MyAtlassian.
    7. Click Apply license. If you're using an older version of UPM, you can copy and paste the license into your Confluence instance.
