    Resource Planning

MS Project import, Excel export, and Template

Create schedules and add some dependency relations for your team using simple mouse operations. Schedules of succeeding tasks are automatically adjusted. In addition, you are able to create a Baseline plan.

You can deduce the resource workload by viewing the data represented in a bar chart. Using this feature, you can check workload while re-scheduling. When the workload is high, the bar chart will be highlighted in red.

With this tool, you can import data from MS Project. The Excel export feature helps with "Printing and Distribution" of data. The Ticket Template helps with the process of creating a similar WBS task pattern.

Great add-on. Easy to use, with some nice features like resource management, hierarchical structure, issue templates and, of course the gantt charts easy to work Also light and faster than the alternatives with big amount of data. Some improvements can still be made, like the Progress calculation be set per project (some projects use time tracking, others don't), and some bug fixing on the exported excel files macros (different behaviours on different countries environments- maybe regional setting?)

Overall: we evaluated several Gantt-Chart addons for JIRA (Gantt-Chart for JIRA, BigGantt, Gantt-Chart Project, Portfolio, Tempo, and some others) and WBS has the: least bugs, cleanest interface, most intuitive interface, great support, resource management, Gantt-Chart automatically showing tasks and hierarchy (with Epics) WBS Gantt-Chart for JIRA is used by our organization to provide project management tool on top of JIRA: - Developers enter their task in two level hierarchy: top level Epics and Tasks linked to the top level Epics - Developers enter their Original Estimates of how long they think the task will take - WBS Gantt-Chart JIRA addon can show for a project or set of projects (based on filter) automatically the hierarchy of Epics and the linked Tasks as well as the assignee as the resource - In WBS, project manager can assign start dates of a task, end date (which then determines the size of the task in days) as well as the utilization of resource - In WBS, project manager can also create dependencies between tasks (e.g. taskA is dependent on taskB) - The Gantt Chart in WBS can then show the predicted finish date on the chart - New tasks created by developer automatically show up in WBS - In WBS, if a task takes longer than before (ie its end date changes), dependent tasks move automatically to the right (later) - In WBS, a resource view will show utilization of resources (assignees of tasks) so that empty and overbooked slots can be identified What WBS does not provide: - a locking mechanism so multiple people can work on the WBS Gantt-Char - an automatic way of updating the size of the task (ie End date from start date + original estimate) though this can be *programmed* in (we have paid Ricksoft to do this for us)

Very nice tool, indeed. However, what is the locking strategy if multiple people work on the same project plan? One person moves a task end date, the other person changes the task end date to something different. We observed that whoever saves last wins, but the person who saved first doesn't get a warning that his changes are overwritten. Is this by design or are we making a mistake? If there would be a good locking strategy this tool would be really a great, lightweight alternative to expensive heavyweight project management tools.

Thank you for your feedback. It really encourages us. As you mentioned, WBSGC does not support locking mechanism at this moment, however, we would like to consider notification mechanisms edited by others. Although we cannot promise yet....

I think It's very nice add-on, nice UI and easy to use. Generally Project Management includes schedule and resource. But, this add-on does not provide resource management. Do you have a roadmap about resource management?

Thank you for using our add-on, WBS Gantt-Chart for JIRA. We are aware that resource management is important for project management, and do have it in our road map. However, there is not really a specific date for release yet. There might be a chance to be able to do that within this year, but again, we are not sure.

[UPDATE] As of 12-May-2015, we already added resource management feature in WBS Gantt-Chart for JIRA 7.10.0. Please give it a try! (The latest version is 7.12.0)

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server add-on pricing work?

Server products and add-ons are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and add-on licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If add-on pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing tier?

For JIRA Server 7.0 or later, the add-on tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed JIRA applications on your instance. For example, if you're running JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 50-user tier for add-ons.

For versions of JIRA Server prior to 7.0, the add-on tier should match the licensed user tier for JIRA. Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your JIRA license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server add-ons, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host application. Server add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses. Cloud add-ons do not have discounted or free licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server add-ons, you can extend your add-on trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host application, and you're all set.

How can I buy add-ons for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy add-on pricing is no longer available. You have two options for add-on purchasing:

    • Purchase the add-on at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the add-on at the same tier.
