We had been using Tempo for JIRA for couple of years and 2 months ago we migrated to JIRA Cloud and thus also to Tempo for JIRA Cloud. I have to admin that I really miss couple of functions that were available in older Tempo for JIRA Server. 1) In "My work" or "Reports" I can group work by projects and issues. That was also available in old version. However old version also respected grouping by superior issue. It is not possible any more (or is it?). Eg. I typically have User Stories in my projects and User Stories have Tasks (Tasks are Sub-tasks of User Stories in "JIRA language"). I log work to tasks. When I choose "Group by Issue" work is grouped by tasks only - superior issues (in my case User Stories) are omitted. In older versions they were not. Thus I cannot see how much work was logged for a User Story. Is there a way how to achieve this in current version? 2) In Tempo settings, you can define Workload Schemes and assign users to them. But workload schemes are not applied anywhere! I did not find any view (report or My work) where I can compare actual logged work to workload schemes for any user. Before, such comparison was available in "My work" view which was really efficient - every user could compare logged hours to hours he is supposed to have worked. Could you advise me how to achieve this in Tempo fo JIRA cloud? Or could you explain to me why there are Workload scheme when they have no effect currently?

    Tempo for JIRA

    Hi Jan,

Thanks for leaving a review for Tempo Timesheets.

    In response to your queries:

    1) We are currently working on implementing this feature into our Timesheets Cloud environment. I don´t currently have an ETA on this, but it is in development as we speak You can read about our Timesheets development on our Product Status page.

    2) This is possible. I am going to ask you to submit a Support Ticket so that we can help you to work through this, rather than having to go through this on the review page.

    Kind regards,

    Kristín Hreinsdóttir

    Hi Markus,

Thanks for reviewing the latest version of Tempo Timesheets.

We have had a few users that have reported lag recently due to the new migration. It would be useful if you could send our HelpCenter Team a support ticket here so that they can investigate the issue for you.

We do have quite a few updates coming which you can read about here and of course we are helping customers with any performance issues they might be experiencing.

    Kind regards,

    David Wilkie

I agree with the recent reviews: the current version is broken and unreliable. While there has been some improvement in the past weeks, it's really sad to confirm that most of my perceptions (like hours getting lost) were true. Yesterday, when I was trying to log time, the popup would appear with the time and description fields empty (although there were filled in on the issue sidebar). Today, while trying to log using the new popup (the one deployed today to my instance), I got an "Invalid date" error - even when selecting the date from the field. That was the straw that broke the camel's back - I'm switching back to manually logging the time on Excel while I search for a more reliable solution or until I confirm that Tempo is up to the task again.

Our previous time tracking and reporting application was loathed by our team members: Time entry was cumbersome, and project managers had to go through several manual steps to map hours worked against original estimates. We rolled out Tempo Timesheets in November 2015 with minimal effort... Now our teams can use their preferred interface (timesheet, calendar, tracker, or directly in an issue) to enter their time without having to leave JIRA. Our PMs can easily see who's worked how many hours on which project, and can use filters to fine tune their reporting. For the most part, tracking time has gone from being a chore to becoming part of people's daily routines.

Tempo was a very handy plug-in for us before we upgraded to 8.1. We were really satisfied with the permissions based on the team. The new version with the permissions based on projects is not really useful for us because it doesn't fit our structure/needs in the company. Are you guys planning to bring back the old permission System (maybe beside the new one)?

Great product for our company. It made a new requirement at the start of 2017 for all employees in IT (Services and App Dev) to enter time each week less painful for our employees. In addition, it allowed us to easily implement the approval process and locking approved timesheets which was required for audit purposes from our Finance group.

Tempo helps me run my business efficiently. My staff uses Timesheets to track their time, and I use it to invoice our customers. Before coming to Tempo, I used a collection of spreadsheets to do the same work. Switching from spreadsheets to Tempo made my invoice process more accurate, and continues to save time every month.

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud pricing is subscription based. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for host products and apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. JIRA Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the JIRA products on your instance. For example, if you have JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.

The pricing structure for cloud products and apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 host product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.
    • If per-user pricing is not yet available for this app, please contact the vendor for further information.

If you've opted for annual billing for your host product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. For JIRA Server 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed JIRA products on your instance. For example, if you're running JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 50-user tier for apps. For versions of JIRA Server prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for JIRA. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your JIRA license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server apps, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host product. Server apps are always free for community and open-source licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian host product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
