We installed Tempo and for a start it was working fine. However, after using it for a while we discovered, that there loading times are slow and sometimes it is not evening possible to open Tempo timesheets. This means, that we can't log work. As it is right now, we can't recommend Tempo.

I've been using and promoting Tempo for 4 years and it's my first grievance letter. New Cloud version brings dozens of bugs, lack of planning features. Not stable. Works slowly. In my own opinion so called "updating to a new add-on version" should be totally optional. Tempo Cloud is making an obligation. Just go to new version or don't use us at all.

    Tempo for JIRA

    Dear Kirill,

As Atlassian is moving away from their old Cloud infrastructure we are not able to downgrade you to the previous version. The new version is built on the Atlassian Connect framework, this new framework is a scalable platform for add-ons that supports rich integration with JIRA Cloud and will improve the performance and reliability of our product. Right now, all of our focus is on improving this new version, so you should expect a lot of improvements in the upcoming weeks.

We are very working around the clock to make the new version the best it can be and we are very happy to work with you on resolving your issues. We believe that the new version has many great improvements and features that were not in the old version. I encourage you to check them out, read more about it here: Introducing Tempo Cloud for JIRA.

    All the best,

    Tempo for JIRA

    Hi William,

You are comparing the new version of Timesheets for JIRA Cloud to the old cloud version. In the coming months Atlassian is shutting down their old cloud infrastructure because they are moving to a new and better solution, read more about it here: Introducing Tempo Cloud for JIRA.

This allows us to deliver solutions our customers need faster, more frequently and with better performance. With the new infrastructure we have laid the groundwork for more flexible reports, project approvals, powerful period setup and improved notifications. We haven't yet matched all capabilities of the old Cloud product or kinks of the new solution but we will soon!

On performance, from the tests we have run we are seeing that loading a report with 4000 worklogs takes now 1/5 of the time it took in the old cloud version. Furthermore we know there are ways to improve the performance even further. So I would love to know what you came across. Please send us a note here so we can investigate.

As a Timesheets product manager I am currently sitting next to the HelpCenter team in order to hear first hand where we need to improve. We know users are struggling with setting up permissions correctly, setting up the reports among other things. This week we are working on improving permission setup for Teams and Accounts. We are also working on improving the Reports, making them more flexible and easier to use. We will make this available next week and in subsequent weeks.

Let us know what issues you encountered so we can help you more directly by sending us a note here.

I can't wait to make available all the great things we are working on!

All the best and take care

If you'd like accurate time tracking and good support, don't use this Tempo. For weeks they've had a critical bug where the remaining time estimate field does not update when logging time from the Tracker. Remaining time estimates are business critical information that many people use to gauge their pipeline and give estimates to clients, but the people at Tempo do not think this is important to fix despite opening a ticket in their support center. The ticket has been closed and no fix has been made. Not only is this bad customer support, it's likely in violation of their SLA.

    Tempo for JIRA

    Hi Patrick,

Thank you for your message. As mentioned in the ticket you have with us, this is a know problem for the current version of Timesheets for JIRA Cloud. As Tempo is currently moving Tempo Timesheets add-on for JIRA Cloud to a new cloud technology, we won't be able release new fixes for the current cloud version.

The new version is built on the Atlassian Connect framework, this new framework is a scalable platform for add-ons that supports rich integration with JIRA Cloud and will improve the performance and reliability of our product. Right now, all of our focus is on improving this new version, and the Tracker has been successfully implemented in our new version (the remaining time estimates populate correctly when logging time from the Tracker). If you are still experiencing problems once you are migrated to the new version or have any other questions or concerns do not hesitate to contact us again.

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does cloud add-on pricing work?

Cloud pricing is subscription based. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, your pricing tier for host products and add-ons is automatically adjusted (as necessary) based on the number of users in your instance.

If you've opted for annual billing for your host product, add-ons are also billed annually. Annual subscriptions for this add-on include a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

If add-on pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing tier?

The cloud add-on tier is set automatically based on the maximum tier of the licensed JIRA applications on your instance. For example, if you have JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, your add-on tier is 50 users.

Note: While this add-on has features specific to JIRA Service Desk, the add-on is technically available across the whole JIRA instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server add-ons, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host application. Server add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses. Cloud add-ons do not have discounted or free licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud add-ons, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud add-ons are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the add-on.

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server add-on pricing work?

Server products and add-ons are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and add-on licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If add-on pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing tier?

For JIRA Server 7.0 or later, the add-on tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed JIRA applications on your instance. For example, if you're running JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 50-user tier for add-ons.

For versions of JIRA Server prior to 7.0, the add-on tier should match the licensed user tier for JIRA. Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your JIRA license, the two licenses should match exactly.

For server add-ons, you can extend your add-on trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host application, and you're all set.

How can I buy add-ons for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy add-on pricing is no longer available. You have two options for add-on purchasing:

    • Purchase the add-on at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the add-on at the same tier.
