Just started using it, love the slack integration and how easy it makes tracking time within JIRA. The documentation should be setup in more of a flow than it is. It is unclear whether or not i need to perform all of the steps, and then in some cases it is also unclear if the instructions are for the current version or a past version. The tech support is really great, every time I have reached out I've heard back shortly afterward. 3 stars only because it wasn't completely turnkey, it was close though. UPDATE: I don't think this is going to work for our group. I had quite a bit of trouble setting things up and once I got things working then it just started having bugs that I don't really have time to deal with.

We've used Tempo for over two years now, but the July 2017 update has introduced a number of problems. Hours that are entered aren't showing in the Tempo interface, but they're in there because I can query them using All-In-One Reports. Our Accounts used to be rock solid and I could report time/cost to management but now it's flakey. Emails that used to tell me which staff member entered time on an issue by username now just say "Timesheets" so I can no longer tell them apart. Tempo support has been poor. Despite not making any changes to our configuration all this broke, and all I get is a repeating loop of excuses about how they can't do that because Tempo is now residing in its own system and its own database. Look, I don't really care where you put the data, but simply that it not lose reliability and features it had before the upgrade. The reliability and trustworthiness of the old cloud version was good. The new version is terrible. Run away and find some other time tracking solution.

Why is Tempo Timesheets asking for a reindex every day? There is something very stupid happening in the integration. I am at the point of switching it off - the benefits are there but this is painful.

    Hi Shankar,

I apologise for this constant disruption to your work. The reindexing notifications should not be appearing frequently. I would love to have our team investigate it. Can you reach our support to help us diagnose the issue or reach me directly at vidar@tempo.io.

I can't help but agree with all the recent reviews (Brian C, Brian M etc). Tempo was great until the latest update, I was excited for the Chrome Plugin thinking it would solve. most of the issues but only made them worse. Creating 1 new timers often results in creating 3 more and none are deletable, it doesn't know what task you're logging on even if you type it and even when finished,, it still takes you to another page just to confirm what you already wrote. It's unfortunate but this just makes working with tempo so frustrating, I'm gritting teeth hoping it will be sorted but it feels like I've been doing that a while ...

Used to be a good tool however the recent "upgrades" are very buggy, poorly designed UI, removal of features that completely disrupted our workflow. Support seems sympathetic but not really offering any solutions. Perhaps they need to realize that is costs businesses money to re-tool/re-learn software and if it doesn't work that is time/money 100% wasted. Customers are not software testers. Tempo is a useless tool at the moment unfortunately. Evaluating Work Time add on now. Already much, much easier to deal with. I think we're done with Tempo.

    Hi Brian,

I’m sorry the update has caused such a large disruption to your workflow. The thinking behind it was to enable much more frequent roll outs, with new functionalities and improvements and powerful features - we are pushing out new releases every week or even twice a week, together with bug fixes.Together will all of my colleagues here at Tempo, I hope you reconsider your decision. We are working hard to make just as good as you remember it. If there’s anything we can do for you, please contact me directly at vidar@tempo.io

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud pricing is subscription based. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for host products and apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. JIRA Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the JIRA products on your instance. For example, if you have JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.Note: While this app has features specific to JIRA Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole JIRA instance. Therefore the above guidelines for licensing across maximum users still apply.

The pricing structure for cloud products and apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 host product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.
    • If per-user pricing is not yet available for this app, please contact the vendor for further information.

If you've opted for annual billing for your host product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. For JIRA Server 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed JIRA products on your instance. For example, if you're running JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 50-user tier for apps. For versions of JIRA Server prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for JIRA. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your JIRA license, the two licenses should match exactly.Note: While this app has features specific to JIRA Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole JIRA instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server apps, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host product. Server apps are always free for community and open-source licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian host product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
