    Hello, you wrote in your documentation "...but allow you to define exact working hours for each day" in the workload plans section, but it is only possible to add full hours like 7 or 8. In some countries they have 7.5 working hours like in Finland and I am not able to configure this. Is this just not possible or is there a hint to to it? Other Add-ons like Tempo are able to handle this easily. The logged work is shown with 1.25 or 2.5 in the same resource overview so it shouldn't be a problem... br, Volker

    Installation of update 6.4.4 keeps failing, and as a result our instance of BigPicture stays disabled. This seems to be a terrible update!

    If new versions include a way to manage cost as MS Project does, it is going to be the best option ever for project management in JIRA. Unfortunately, if you want to manage project costs/budgets, you still need MS Project or other add-ons, which could be better if you have everything in a single tool.

    Sam,

    Have you updated your BigPicture to the latest version? If you did, you will see a window prompting to 'Choose source of issues' when adding a program. You may import MS Project right from there!

    ***A word of warning*** I have been testing BigPicture for a couple of months now. It is really a great tool for schedule visualisations and resource overallocation analysis. However there is a big BUT which I would like to describe in this review, before others make their purchasing decisions regarding this software. I work for SAP consulting company. In my organisation we use 250 users JIRA for managing projects. I installed BigPicture to manage project schedules and forecast resource utilisation. The proof of concept went well until I discovered that the critical functionality of individual holiday plans and working calendars is the BigPicture Enterprise add-on to BigPicture. The "Regular" BigPicture has only one calendar for all resources and you cannot plan individual unavailability. If I want to use BigPicture for 250 users, I pay $3000. And guess what - if I want to use holiday plans and individual working calendars, I need to pay another $3000. Personally I do not agree with the claim that individual calendars for project resoruces are something for big Enterprises. Even in small organisations unavailability register and its impact on individual schedules is a MUST HAVE functionality. To sum up, unfortunately due to the lack of the individual calendars functionality, we will need to look for some work around solution using the Structure plug-in and BI reporting. This surely won't cost us $6000 to implement and maintain. Think about your organisation needs in terms of individual calendars planning before you make a decision to purchase BigPicture. You may have to pay double.

    Thank you for a thorough review! We are sorry to hear about your frustration with this limitation, yet we are sure that it will not last too long. Originally, the feature of one calendar for all resources was intended as one of the differentiators between BigPicture and BigPicture Enterprise. Please be noted that the complete list of enterprise features is published here.

    Our strategy is to enrich BigPicture Enterprise with new enterprise features and migrate other ones to BigPicture. We have realized that single workload and holiday plans do not fully align with our customers' needs which is why a re-designed Resource module has been in our backlog for a while now and is in the works. It is expected to be released in Q2 2016. Stay tuned for upcoming releases!

    How does server add-on pricing work?

    Server products and add-ons are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

    You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and add-on licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

    If add-on pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

    How do I determine my server pricing?

    Add-ons are billed based on the number of users in your host product. For JIRA Server 7.0 or later, the add-on tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed JIRA products on your instance. For example, if you're running JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 50-user tier for add-ons. For versions of JIRA Server prior to 7.0, the add-on tier should match the licensed user tier for JIRA. Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your JIRA license, the two licenses should match exactly.Note: While this add-on has features specific to JIRA Service Desk, the add-on is technically available across the whole JIRA instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

    Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

    For server add-ons, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host product. Server add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses.

    Can I extend my free trial?

    For server add-ons, you can extend your add-on trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host product, and you're all set.

    How can I buy add-ons for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

    If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy add-on pricing is no longer available. You have two options for add-on purchasing:

    • Purchase the add-on at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the add-on at the same tier.

    Installation

    1. Log into your JIRA instance as an admin.
    2. Click the admin dropdown and choose Atlassian Marketplace. The Manage add-ons screen loads.
    3. Click Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page.
    4. Locate BigPicture via search. The appropriate add-on version appears in the search results.
    5. Click Try free to begin a new trial or Buy now to purchase a license for BigPicture. You're prompted to log into MyAtlassian. BigPicture begins to download.
    6. Enter your information and click Generate license when redirected to MyAtlassian.
    7. Click Apply license. If you're using an older version of UPM, you can copy and paste the license into your JIRA instance.
