I migrated from Jira Cloud to Server solution in order to start using this Gantt. But after one week of painful migration it was figured out that it doesn't support hours estimations!!! to build sprint plan for two weeks. It is horrible. I don't know how to continue to do planning of sprints (for 75 people). I am really disappointed. And "auto-estimating" for empty tasks is really useless because you can't understand which tasks wasn't estimated, and you have to delete this estimate after real estimation by assignee. Please, show it as it is - empty issue.

    Hi Ivan,

First, our apologies that our tool did not meet your demand – the UI is a bit clunky and some stuff may be hard to achieve at first, but we are working on it right now so things will get better.

Estimation in hours is supported, just not visually – the tasks will look like a full day in the chart part of the Gantt, but the actual values (like in Columns) can be in hours all the time.

There is no auto-estimation – if a task is unestimated, it’s Original Estimate is taken into account, and if this is not present, then Created and Resolved dates. These are only fallback modes for when a task has no start and end dates, though, and the behavior is described in detail in the documentation: https://softwareplant.atlassian.net/wiki/display/BIGPICTURE/Gantt+Chart+configuration#GanttChartconfiguration-Taskperiodconfiguration

Buggy, buggy, buggy. Tickets lose their ancestors, disappear, gantts could not be deleted (fixed in the meantime). Usability is like in the 90s, this product needs serious refinement. But, it seems it's still the best Gantt tool in the marketplace, since the other are much worser.

Thank you for the feedback! We are aware a lot of things still need to be improved and are working on them with the best speed we can. The 2 problems you mentioned (hierarchy and disappearing tasks) can be fixed, just in a clunky way, and our aim is to make things much easier to use with the next versions.

Excellent addition to JIRA which really helps for those people who are so used to seeing a gantt chart view of the project structure. To date , BigGantt has received regular updates which continue to add features and introduce refinements. I've had to contact the developers a few times for help with minor issues and the support has always been extremely prompt and helpful with the issues seen through to conclusion, absolute top marks in this area. If you're after a gantt chart view of your JIRA projects then I would definitely recommend you check BigGantt.

We greatly appreciate your feedback, as this is certainly very interesting. We just checked the formula you suggested against a few other ones and it seems to fully make sense. Just one question, could you let us know (e-mail to support@softwareplant.com is fine) where is the JIRA formula displayed?

But three months ago, you said it would be released in three months. Is it now going to be September before the Cloud version comes out?

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server add-on pricing work?

Server products and add-ons are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and add-on licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If add-on pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing tier?

For JIRA Server 7.0 or later, the add-on tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed JIRA applications on your instance. For example, if you're running JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 50-user tier for add-ons.

For versions of JIRA Server prior to 7.0, the add-on tier should match the licensed user tier for JIRA. Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your JIRA license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Note: While this add-on has features specific to JIRA Service Desk, the add-on is technically available across the whole JIRA instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server add-ons, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host application. Server add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses. Cloud add-ons do not have discounted or free licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server add-ons, you can extend your add-on trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host application, and you're all set.

How can I buy add-ons for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy add-on pricing is no longer available. You have two options for add-on purchasing:

    • Purchase the add-on at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the add-on at the same tier.
