    I have been using for about 4 months now and it is very frustrating. The layout is not the greatest, horizontal and vertical scrolling is difficult and it is not very intuitive at all. It is overly complicated with poor documentation that does not match what you see. It does not seemed to have matured over time from when it was initially created and they do not seem to listen to customer feedback. I hate not being able to pick up the phone to call customer service but as it is they do respond. That is the best thing I can say about it. If I had more time to have researched possibly I may have gone with something different. 1.5/4

    I thank Chris for his comments regarding his experience of BigGantt. Such feedback is both useful for feature development and improvements to user experience. BigGantt, as are all the apps comprising the SoftwarePlant suite of PPM solutions, is constantly being developed and enhanced, driven exclusively by feature requests and user demands for greater functionality. BigGantt has been the focus of a raft of enhancements soon to be released including:

    • real-time aggregation of values (now calculated on-the-fly),
    • significantly improved re-sync time
    • UI improvements

    We will continue to develop BigGantt in line with user demands and expectations, so please expect greater performance in further releases. I am pleased to see that Chris did receive responses from our Support team. We promise to respond to inquiries within 48 hours, although most are dealt with far sooner. Such is the necessity to effectively log and track support requests, we are unable to provide telephone support, as is standard industry practice of many software solution vendors.SoftwarePlant is an active and engaged member of the Atlassian Community. We positively encourage and seek out feedback on the functionality of all our plugins from our users, particularly via our Atlassian Partners and global network of PPM solution providers. It is this feedback that provides the feedstock for our development planning activities. We would love to hear from anyone who has ideas about new features or on how they would like to see BigGantt improved in future releases.

    This application is not fit for purpose. Not only is the vendor's SaaS platform suffering from an ENTIRE OUTAGE since February 7th 2018, but even before then the export functionality was completely broken. Even with a simple Gantt, it was impossible to export as an image or PDF. 'Land locked' Gantt that are only accessible in Jira and cannot be exported, is not what we signed up for. When we complained, the vendor blamed this on "unexpectedly high demand for some of our Cloud products". On January 23rd 2018, in their own words "I am able to assure you that a hotfix is to be released no later than 2 February which will remedy your problem and I kindly ask for your patience." Of course, February 2nd came and went. Nothing. Export was still broken. Now, their system is completely offline since February 7th. This seems like: - Naive systems architecture - Very poor customer service Remember, this is a PAID-FOR service. However, it does not do what it is advertised to do, and therefore, in my opinion, does not deserve a place in the Atlassian Marketplace. I don't think I can leave a 'zero star' review, so I am opting to leave a '1 star' review.

    • 2018-02-07: 7hours 13minutes (11:48 GMT - 17:01 GMT)
    • 2018-02-08: 0 hours 7minutes (06:45 GMT - 06:52 GMT)
    • 2018-02-08: 0 hours 5minutes (11:37 GMT - 11:42 GMT)

    Should any user be experiencing continued problems accessing either of these plugins, this may be due to authentication issues occurring during the down-time if the user attempted to un-install then re-install the app. Please contact our Support team on support@softwareplant.com who will be able to guide you through reactivation.

    This situation arose as a result of the attempt to rectify functionality issues caused by conflicts between BigGantt and the BigGantt module of BigPicture with Phantom JS image export library. It had been decided to replace Phantom JS with Headless Chrome to achieve reliable image export functionality. During such upgrade, problems were experienced and implementation of Headless Chrome was suspended. Delays were also encountered following data migration to larger databases taking longer than expected.

    SoftwarePlant follows industry standard best practices for software testing. Prior to the release of this planned update, all software was subject to extensive, thorough and comprehensive QA testing. No such problems as subsequently experienced by users were apparent and the decision was made to go ahead with the deploy. The update was expected to last two hours.

    We seek to assure users that this situation is an exception as we have complete confidence in our products. SoftwarePlant is proud to have been a reputable vendor on Atlassian Marketplace for more than three years and has established an enviable reputation for the quality of our plugins.

    We unreservedly apologise to any users of our Cloud products who have been affected and thank them for their patience and continued support.

    Installed this application for 30 day trial on Feb. 4, 2018. It has been non-functional since Feb. 7, 2018. Received an email on on Feb. 7 explaining they had an issue during an upgrade and would be offline for a few hours. Submitted a Support Request on Feb. 8 and received an automated message that they were so busy it would be at least 48 hours before hearing a response. Got sick of it on Feb. 9. 2018. Not understanding why they couldn't at least roll-back their update after three days of downtime I decided to uninstall and shop around for a product that functions. Too bad too, it seemed like a great product and was easy to use. But it actually has to be online for it to be useful.

    Really surprised to read reviews that are not rating this plug as anything but great - but understand that there are different expectations. My experience has been very good from starting the trial, there was a small setup required and then it was good to go. Support has been absolutely great since my first support ticket and continues to be so - quick responses and detailed answers. I am genuinely finding this the best combination of tools (Jira with BigGantt) for managing all project activities that I have had in my 20 years of managing portfolios, programs and projects - although I agree the speed could be improved I expect that to come in time. I like BigGantt, my team likes BigGantt and our customers like BigGantt - enough said :)

    It is quite unstable and even doing basic stuff is often a problem. If you report a bug answer can be something like this: "It happens sometimes just do it manually" - well yeah do it manually - hundreds of issues... Also asking to provide full administration rights to their email is not something what you will be wiling to do...

    Thank you for the review. We do realize that some issues with the Cloud version of the plugin might have caused a user to encounter few problems, especially in its first months after the official release. And yes, in some cases a manual troubleshooting was required, though we are trying to implement hot-fixes to all of our plugins as often as possible.

    We do not request administrative rights to anyone's e-mail. In most cases we offer a WebEx troubleshooting session with screen sharing, where user reproduces the issue and one or two of SoftwarePlant team members guides them through the plugin set-up in order to resolve that specific issue. In some cases, when the above is not possible, customers offer a creation of a JIRA account with administrative rights to their environment in order to test, reproduce and fix some issues, though this usually takes legal forms like NDA.

    Please let us know if the issue you've struggled with still persists or maybe if it was fixed with the later releases of the BigGantt.

    Very slow to create a chart (from a tiny test project). Came up with meaningless errors. Took no notice of assignments, scheduled all tasks simultaneously. Could drag them manually but not link them. If you did this, the change this was forgotten if you created a new chart. Changing the estimated time of a task had no effect on the chart; you have to make a new chart, which will have forgotten everything you did.

    Every update breaks it and it never asked before making an update or sends a detailed message on what exactly has changed. The staff have been really patient and helpful in solving the issues that I have been experiencing but the wait time for them to resolve the issues are just not worth the updates. I am back in square one again, the app doesn't load properly and is picky on when it loads....

    How does cloud app pricing work?

    Cloud pricing is subscription based. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

    When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for host products and apps based on the number of users in your instance.

    If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

    How do I determine my cloud pricing?

    Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. Jira Cloud apps are priced based on the maximum users of the Jira products on your instance. For example, if you have Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you pay the 50-user price for apps.Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for licensing across maximum users still apply.

    The pricing structure for cloud products and apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 host product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.
    • If per-user pricing is not yet available for this app, please contact the vendor for further information.

    If you've opted for annual billing for your host product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

    Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

    Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

    Can I extend my free trial?

    For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    How does server app pricing work?

    Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

    You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

    How do I determine my server pricing?

    Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. For Jira Server 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance.     Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

    For server apps, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host product. Server apps are always free for community and open-source licenses.

    Can I extend my free trial?

    For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian host product, and you're all set.

    How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

    If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.

    Installation

    1. Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
    2. Click the admin dropdown and choose Atlassian Marketplace. The Manage add-ons screen loads.
    3. Click Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page.
    4. Locate BigGantt - neat gantt chart via search. The appropriate app version appears in the search results.
    5. Click Try free to begin a new trial or Buy now to purchase a license for BigGantt - neat gantt chart. You're prompted to log into MyAtlassian. BigGantt - neat gantt chart begins to download.
    6. Enter your information and click Generate license when redirected to MyAtlassian.
    7. Click Apply license. If you're using an older version of UPM, you can copy and paste the license into your Jira instance.
