    More details

Ever wanted to search across Confluence and files on network shares? Finally, you can!

By elegantly leveraging and extending the familiar Confluence search functionality, Infinidex allows you to quickly search through content on your network shares.

With Infinidex you can easily find knowledge otherwise hidden in tucked-away files deep in a network share folder structure - and open the network location or file in the right application directly from within Confluence.

» If you are using this add-on in an Confluence instance older than 5.10.7 and running on Windows, please also have a look at our Atlassian Office Connector Patch, which improves the performance characteristics of the Confluence indexing engine to meet the goals of Infinidex for Confluence versions older than 5.10.7. «

Useful plugin but the link creation on our side only worked when entering the share path and not the drive letter as "Shown Windows Path". Using the driver letter didn't work even if the drive letter was mapped. Search results from shares are displayed when using the search macro. It would be even better if one could filter these results to just display Infinidex hits. Another suggestion: Make the created URL link configurable with the current handling (URL-file with a file://SHARE... link inside) as default. For us it would be great to get direct links (file://....) to the share files as we either use a browser addon or Internet Explorer to open the files. These two changes would make it a very valuable addon for our use case. Keep up the good work!

Installed and can search a network share. However every time I try to click on a file from the share, I only get a download link. That link does not properly allow me to save or open the file. This is for word and .pdf files. I have not tried other files. I was hoping to have access to a network folder and facilitate reading documents from a search from within Confluence. So the indexing of the server location is working, but I cannot do anything with the results (open or save the documents). I am looking for a plugin that can allow a simple network share to be browsed and users to read those files from within Confluence. The usage of a file://// type link does not work without browser plugins (unless you use IE). Thus the reason I tested your product.

    Dear Bob,

Thank you very much for your review and for your very nice suggestion. We are working on implementing support for previewing files from network shares within Confluence itself, and I think that your suggestion definitely highlights the relevancy of such functionality. Thanks again for voicing this, and I would be very interested in discussing the matter further with you.

As for you not being able to open the file on the file share, we're very sorry that you are experiencing problems with that, and we will reach out to you first thing next week to troubleshoot that with you.

Please send your contact information to me on D-8ps4tc3tqtkym94otn4a0@maildrop.cc (a secured e-mail address), and I will put you in contact with one of my great colleagues, who will assist you, and also send you a bottle of wine as a thank you for providing feedback. :-)

Very useful plugin if you want to make legacy documents searchable within your Confluence installation. Few ideas to improve the plugin: - Additional options, e.g. if folder should be scanned recursively or not - Open Office files (doc, ppt...) with preview function of Confluence instead of downloading the file - Search macro which searches only specific folder, so that you could integrate it on a page Furthermore, how to use your support desk? An account is needed, but it looks like one can not register for it

    Pricing

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server add-on pricing work?

Server products and add-ons are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and add-on licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If add-on pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing tier?

The add-on tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian host application. For example, if you have a Confluence Server license for 25 users, you should purchase the 25-user tier for add-ons. Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your host application license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server add-ons, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host application. Server add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses. Cloud add-ons do not have discounted or free licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server add-ons, you can extend your add-on trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host application, and you're all set.

How can I buy add-ons for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy add-on pricing is no longer available. You have two options for add-on purchasing:

    • Purchase the add-on at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the add-on at the same tier.
