    Inspiration

    I work as a JIRA administrator in my company, and I often have people emailing me problems that happens within FINRA. This plugin seeks to do that automatically.

    What it does

    Looks through the JIRA logs, spots an error and creates a ticket with the user who had the error as the reporter.

    What's next for Error Handler for JIRA

    Created this in two days for the hackathon. Will work on the following after the hackathon:

    • Robust verification
    • Scheduled scan
    • Different log levels
    • Customizable script that runs on finding an error
    • Filterable errors for errors you don't care about

    Go to {context}/plugins/servlet/errorHandlerConfig

    Enter the log location

    And the information for the project you will create the tickets in

    Also enter the default user for the plugin to create the ticket as

    Enter the line number you want to start as

    Hit submit and you should see each error in the log created as a ticket

    Installation

    1. Log into your JIRA instance as an admin.
    2. Click the admin dropdown and choose Add-ons. The Manage add-ons screen loads.
    3. Click Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page.
    4. Locate Error Handler for JIRA via search. Results include add-on versions compatible with your JIRA instance.
    5. Click Install to download and install your add-on.
    6. You're all set! Click Close in the Installed and ready to go dialog.
