    The Delegated Project Creator for Jira add-on allows Jira administrators to create templates of the schemes needed for commonly used project configurations. Create as many different templates as you need to handle new project requests.

    Then, identify the trusted groups who can create projects from those templates, or request projects. Those trusted group members can then do self-service of your routine project requests, freeing up your Jira Administrators for more important work!

    A history is maintained of all project requests, collecting valuable information about who requested a project and why.

    This tool makes it really easy to create project templates that different teams can choose from when creating their own projects without an administrator.

    Hi it's really amazing add on but I have big problem I create a project and save it as template project but when create project from that template , an empty project created!!! I don't know what is wrong here and I really need it

    Its a great plugin and we have used it for a couple of years now but im lacking one functionallity and that is to have the possibility to select which context for for custom fields should be used. The use case is that its suggested to reuse custom fields as much as possible but different projects have different needs for values in for example drop downs. So I want to have the possibility to select which context to use for the template without having to manually select the desired project to the list. The other use is that some custom fields may contain a huge amount of pre populated data. If specific projects are not selected in the context it means that every issue in every project will get this data even though the field is not on the screen itself. This results in tables that uses a lot of unnecessary disk space.

    This saves us a whole lot of time trying to match up all the different schemes to new projects. We just hit a button and go!

    If you create projects regularly, this add-on is a must have. The template process is really well implemented. We've even given a small group of our users the ability to spin up new projects on their own, based on 5 or 6 template types that we've created. For anyone outside that group the add-on makes it dead simple for them to just "request" one of those templates, that we can then approve and create for them in a couple clicks. An absolute essential for larger JIRA deployments. Bravo guys!

    How does server app pricing work?

    Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

    You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

    If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

    How do I determine my server pricing?

    Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. For Jira Server 7.0 or later, the app tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed Jira products on your instance. For example, if you're running Jira Software (50 users) and Jira Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 50-user tier for apps. For versions of Jira Server prior to 7.0, the app tier should match the licensed user tier for Jira. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your Jira license, the two licenses should match exactly.Note: While this app has features specific to Jira Service Desk, the app is technically available across the whole Jira instance. Therefore the above guidelines for the license tier still apply.

    Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

    For server apps, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host product. Server apps are always free for community and open-source licenses.

    Can I extend my free trial?

    For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian host product, and you're all set.

    How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

    If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.

    Bug fix release related to project request queue and workflow in templates

    Details

    This release resolves 2 issues:

    • If a workflow scheme is edited and then subsequently renamed, a project template may, in some cases, lose the stored workflow scheme on the template. This does not affect the projects previously created from the project template.
    • If a user requests a project using Delegated Project Creator for Jira's request feature and the user is then deleted from the system the request queue page may not render properly.

    Installation

    1. Log into your Jira instance as an admin.
    2. Click the admin dropdown and choose Atlassian Marketplace. The Manage add-ons screen loads.
    3. Click Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page.
    4. Locate Delegated Project Creator for Jira via search. The appropriate app version appears in the search results.
    5. Click Try free to begin a new trial or Buy now to purchase a license for Delegated Project Creator for Jira. You're prompted to log into MyAtlassian. Delegated Project Creator for Jira begins to download.
    6. Enter your information and click Generate license when redirected to MyAtlassian.
    7. Click Apply license. If you're using an older version of UPM, you can copy and paste the license into your Jira instance.
