One plugin to integrate JIRA with all the SCM systems

One plugin to integrate JIRA with all the SCM systems

    More details

SCM Activity plugin for JIRA provides REST API Services to access and store SCM Change Set data on the remote database or Cloud and further integrate JIRA with all SCM systems like (perforce, git, gerrit and svn etc.). This plugin separates SCM change set data from JIRA data and as a result eliminates the need of migration of SCM change set data during the regular JIRA upgrade efforts. This add-on is developed as a solution for the situation we faced where SCM Change Set data was over 14 GB of in a total JIRA Database size 26 GB. Right add-on for those who stores SCM Change data in JIRA DB via Custom Text Fields or Comments.

    Benefits:

    - Helps in reducing JIRA down time during regular JIRA upgrades

    - Improves JIRA issue loading performance by avoiding issue comments or change set text custom fields

    - Provides JQL Search functions to search SCM activities

    - Provides REST API Services to fetch or store SCM Change data

    - Supports external jobs integration

    - Supports multiple SCM systems

This is a great plugin. Given Atlassian's redesign of commit display via DVCS and the presentation plugin obscures branch information for commit made on github enterprise. We use long standing patch branches and this plugin's display of branch information helps us track changes more easily. We did need to make a sync tool to receive github webhook payloads and convert them to SCMActivity json format but Gson + Jersey + sparkjava made this fairly easy (about a week's worth of work). With luck, we'll be able to publish the source for that tool so it can be used/improved by others.
