Go beyond sketches by creating simple to complex interactions like pop-ups, light boxes, carousels, tabbed panels, mobile animations and much more.

Licence model is a misunderstanding. Quote "Renew your license ($50) to continue receiving support and free add-on updates." I like how it doesn't mention that if you don't renew the licence you cant view your mockups. Well you can... but you have to edit them. Otherwise you see "ProtoShare License Error". Price could be justified if there were more update for this plugin. Not a single feature/update was released so far in 2016. However, licencing problems aside, it's probably the best tool for making mockups on confluence.

    Hi Grzegorz,

Thanks for your feedback. You can download the attachments and open them in any browsers and your wires will function. It is true that you can't use the built in viewer after the licenses expires. We will take a look at that.

The killer reason why you should not buy it is: After the licence expired, you are not able to see existing wireframes anymore. I mean it is ok if you cannot edit them or create new ones, but I have drawn them under a valid licence!

    Hi Renata,

If you download the attachments, you can open the wires up in any browser and they will still function. Hope this clarifies!

Your app is nice but it has some really frustrating limitations: 1) You cannot copy your design to another design inside of each Issue each opens individually. So why spend any time creating material you might want to put in other designs? I burned hours on one only to find it cannot be duplicated. >:( 2) You can't use the "RIA Components" so there is no simple way to mockup a table. Which is a very common element in mockups. What's the point in having a "Stencil" that is needed but can't be used. It would have been really helpful. 3) The inspector panel should be dockable. Most of the time it gets in the way. Perhaps it could slide out from the other side so the content is in the middle like an IDE. 4) Every Save creates attachments which are not necessary and just pollute my JIRA issue. There should be a choice to turn this off. It should be a "Export to html" menu choice. Hopefully this app will mature and be more simple to use some day.

    Hi Larry,

Thanks for your review. Just wanted to respond to a couple of your issues -- First, you can copy and paste between designs. So if you select all the components and ctrl-v ctrl-c you can paste them all into an empty design.

As for the RIA components - that is a limitation of the Confluence editor that we don't currently have a way to fix. We are looking at adding some replacement components for the functionality you want. You can the advanced HTML component to roll-your-own, but I agree it's easier to have something more out of the box.

Your last two issues are good points - we've had requests for dockability of the inspector. Had not heard about the attachments issue, but I can certainly see that it could get annoying. We'll take a look at that as well.

    Thanks again for your feedback!

The disappointing thing is that page tree and navigation is not supported in confluence plugin. It is not understandable why this important feature is not available and why it is not planned. The way ist is now it unfortunately a good drawing tool but not more, since interaction is not really implemented.

Hi Yves, Thanks for the feedback. We don't have the page tree and navigation available because these prototypes are intended to be stand-alone and embedded in the Confluence pages. You can still create interactions using states to show and hide sections of the page or the entire contents of a page. Using this functionality, you can create multi-page interactions. You can see a short video about how to use states here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqJ9my3ubxo#t=24 So simulating a website or app with hundreds of pages would be problematic, but focused interactions with 2-10 'pages' works really well with ProtoShare for Confluence.

The good part: Amazing product, the way that we can do prototypes have improved our productivity The bad part: It has a terrible integration with confluence. You can't save, you must "save and close", meaning that if saving process fails, you lost your work. Also if you accidentally delete the macro in edit mode, you can't start editing again the file. The only option is "create new", and there is no way to edit again the file.

Thanks for the feedback Julian. We just revisited both of the issues you mentioned, and have to say, you're right. We're going to add a 'Save and Continue' type function, and we're also going to look at a way to use an existing attachment as an inserted ProtoShare design. I'll let you know an ETA for both of these issues. One thing you can do if you accidentally delete a design from a Confluence page is to use the history of the confluence page to restore it to a point before you deleted it. I know that doesn't help if you haven't saved the Confluence page, but thought I would put it out there. Finally, we have a great customer support group, which you can access during business hours from the live chat function in the ProtoShare editor, or call or email. If you get in touch with us, we may be able to help fix the problems that led you to uncover these issues. Also, we love to hear from customers about any problems or desired additional features. Sorry for the problems you encountered, but thanks for letting us know!

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. The app tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian host product. For example, if you have a Confluence Server license for 25 users, you should purchase the 25-user tier for apps. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your host product license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server apps, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host product. Server apps are always free for community and open-source licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian host product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
