Secure Content is the answer to all your inline content encryption needs. Designed for full security and easy use. Perfect for shared, sensitive content such as passwords, data, reports - anything you need to restrict access to.

    Features Include:

    • Owner Report macro: See all your Secure Content in one place. Drop it on any page and be a click away from all of your content for time-saving administration and editing.
    • Transferable ownership: Control of your content can be optionally transferred by the Confluence administrator if needed. Or lock it down to make sure you have complete access control, even from Confluence administrators.
    • Implicit rendering: Authorized users can view secured content automatically on the page without entering a password.
    • Access request: Users can request access with a single click, alerting the content owner immediately for action via Confluence notifications.

Great tool for embedding credentials and sensitive financial information in a page. As the description states, the secure content is not actually on the page, but rather is fetched from a separate database object. This allows us to encrypt a set of credentials once and then embed them in multiple pages for different contexts. When the credentials are updated, all pages displaying that object get the update. Version 2 is a big improvement, including better mobile compatibility, content formatting, and more admin controls.

Hi Colin! We're happy to report that with our 2.0 release (now on the Marketplace), you now have rich-text formatting capabilities and can also edit/ access the block from the Confluence page without having to go into edit mode. We appreciate your feedback and aim to incorporate feature requests like yours in our updated releases- so thank you for helping us build a newer, better Secure Content!

While the plugin does what it says well, the lack of an audit trail and roll-back history is a little less than optimal. I'm also a little disappointed that the word 'key' was used as a field name, given that 'key' is a reserved word in MySQL. There is at least a work-around in the event that a block's contents are destroyed without having to revert everything... If you have backups of your backing database (we'll assume MySQL), then you can restore that backup to another location, copy the contents of the row in question (in their encrypted form), and run an UPDATE against the corresponding row in the live database. Done.

Very nice plug-in that cover most of our security-sesitive use-cases of storing customer access credentials to their systems and very fine granular to control with the Confluence build-in groups to give read-only or read/write control to this container. One star I have to substract there is no history for the container like the page history if it was changed. If you delete the stored informations in the container and save, everything was lost and not recoverable. Also that every container must be opened seperatly and everytime to type the password is not a good solution.

Every occurrence of this macro requires Confluence password to be given separately even if you are already logged in and you have the access rights the macro occurencies require. An other thing is that this macro seems to work with local passwords, not with federated ones, for example. I am looking for a macro which shows it's content automatically if a logged in user has the required access rights (and I want that trusted content to be located on the same page with content open for all). Could this be implemented in this macro, maybe as an option?

Hi Marko! We're happy to report that Secure Content 2.0 (now on the Marketplace) has implicit rendering capabilities, so no password entry is required to display content (if implicit rendering is activated by the block owner). We hope you enjoy this new feature (and many others) in our 2.0 release!

Fantastic and simple pluging, surely deserving of four stars. By the way, do you have any plans on implementing Secure Content for JIRA? We often have request regarding account creation, and it would be great to have the opportunity to store the login information temporarily in the jIRA-cases until needed.

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. The app tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian host product. For example, if you have a Confluence Server license for 25 users, you should purchase the 25-user tier for apps. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your host product license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server apps, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host product. Server apps are always free for community and open-source licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian host product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
