On starting my latest role one of my first tasks was to evaluate all the Test Management plugins on the Atlassian marketplace. Kanoah immediately stood out as being a full Test Management solution instead of some issue types & workflows added to JIRA. The reporting was also a huge advantage over other tools on the market. Added to this the support and communication from the vendors, frequent release strategy with the roadmap of features to come in 2017 and beyond show a user centric approach to the future of the product, all the combined to make the licence cost feel like extremely good value for money.

We were looking for a replacement for our previously used test case management tool RTH as this is no longer mantained. After evaluating several JIRA test case management tools for JIRA (like Zephyr) we decided to use Kanoah. Main reasons for us to use Kanoah are * intuitive integration into JIRA * possibility to re-run tests * time tracking of time needed for test cases * possibility to have three fields for each test step (action, input, expected). Not forget to mention Kanoah support. Very quick response every time. A recommendation!

I've been looking for an easy and straightforward plugin to add test management capability to JIRA. I've been pleasantly surprised with Kanoah in how easy it is to use. Reporting options in the plugin are vast and Kanoah does the job well. I especially like the feedback that is captured in JIRA issues (Functional Requirement type). Those same issues can be directly added to test cases / runs as part of your test coverage. Direct visibility in the JIRA issue, the test cases and test results involved as well as the impacted tests for that JIRA issue (requirement) is a big plus! What I mostly dig is how fast Kanoah support is. The feedback is almost immediate and greatly appreciated! Plus they're extremely responsive and open to any new ideas or suggestions! With all that, I definitely recommend this plugin!

We have been using Zephyr Test Plugin so far and managed ~2,600 Test-Cases in ~50 JIRA Projects. Looking for an alternative plugin offering especially quicker test-case creation and a possiblity to structure test-tases in some kind of a library we checked out Kanoah Tests. We really like integration of test-case creation and test-runs directly from the JIRA Issue. It speeds up navigation and makes testing more apparent to each user. Other to normal issues as "do-it-once-tasks", well-designed test-case have repetitive character. Picking up that idea Kanoah offers folders to structure a test-case library. You can easily create a library for each project individually. For example with a top folder for each module and subfolders for each sub-module. It might not be the fanciest way for a library but it is quick, unterstandable and meets our needs. Kanoah extends JIRA standard project keys. For example project key is "pro" an issues are "pro-1". You will get test cases keys like "pro-T1". This clearly identifies an issues as a test-case on the first glimpse. Unfortunately these keys can´t be found by JIRA standard search. The idea of Kanoah is that tests are documents and need to be saved explicitly. You will find save-buttons along your way. This is a different experience to every-day JIRA usage. You will get into it quickly, but will be frustrating at the beginning. Another thing to mention is the perfect support Kanoah offers. We needed some help to migrate our existing test-cases and these guys did a great job. We also like their attitude to new ideas and improvements for the product. Alltogether we highly recommend Kanoah Tests.

I have worked with various TCM tools but the best thing Kanoah provides are huge list of reports. They are very helpful in tracking the overall progress. Many other features like workflow and project specific enabling and disabling TCM is very distinct. The support is also good and they are open for new suggestions. I strongly recommend this add-on.

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server add-on pricing work?

Server products and add-ons are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and add-on licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If add-on pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing tier?

For JIRA Server 7.0 or later, the add-on tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed JIRA applications on your instance. For example, if you're running JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 50-user tier for add-ons.

For versions of JIRA Server prior to 7.0, the add-on tier should match the licensed user tier for JIRA. Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your JIRA license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server add-ons, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host application. Server add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses. Cloud add-ons do not have discounted or free licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server add-ons, you can extend your add-on trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host application, and you're all set.

How can I buy add-ons for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy add-on pricing is no longer available. You have two options for add-on purchasing:

    • Purchase the add-on at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the add-on at the same tier.
