Scroll Versions enables you to write, manage, and publish in Confluence: Plan, author, and release your documentation

    Multiple Versions

    Multiple Variants

    Duplicate Pagetitles

With Scroll Versions you can manage and author multiple versions of your documentation in a single space. Add or update pages of the documentation, and publish that version when the product is released.

Scroll Versions enables you to manage different product variants in a single space. Space Admins can define variants on space-level and Authors can define which content applies to which variant.

With Scroll Versions you can use duplicate page titles within a single space. You can also rename a page without breaking links, as the link is detached from the pagetitle.

Finally we are able to use confluence as the home for all our documentation writing! Previously we wrote all documentation in docbook adding it directly to our source repository. While this lined up source and documentation pretty nice docbook is a really cruel format for new developers. As an OpenSource project this was a special challenge since people typically don't want to spend too much time learning a new tool/language just for writing documentation. Scroll Versions finally freed us from the hassle allowing us to move our entire documentation to confluence and therefore lowering the entry barrier for new documentation contributors by miles! Thank you!

We have been using this product for about a year now and it has benefited our documentation process tremendously. The way we use this plugin is that we have one space where the authors write the content and then we publish to a space that is open to the customers. This allows the authors to write documentation for each new release without affecting what what the customers see since the two spaces are separate. You could probably do this by copying spaces or hiding pages in a space until a new release is out but trust me that doing it that way is a big hassle and error prone. The biggest benefit of this plugin though is the versioning. The built in versioning in confluence (page history) is not very helpful when you have to deal with maintaining different versions of documentation for products. With this plugin you can create a version for each new release and easily switch back and forth between them, as well as republish something to a previous release if you need to. For example, say you are up to version 3.0 of your product but realize you have to make a change to the documentation of version 1.0 of the product. WIth this plugin you can just switch to version 1.0, make the change, and then publish that change to version 1.0 of the documentation. The change in 1.0 also gets update automatically in version 2.0 and 3.0 so you don't have to go and manually change all those versions. The other great thing about the company that makes this product is the support. They are quick to answer questions and problems you may have. They even gave us a walk through when we first purchased the plugin to show us how to get the most out of it which was extremely helpful at the time since it was new to us. This really is a very helpful and great plugin. If you are on the fence about it, they give you a free trial to try it out so you can give it a test run and see how much easier it will make the documentation process for you before purchasing it.

This plugin provides the much-needed versioning capabilities of an authoring suite while still allowing us to leverage the collaboration benefits of the wiki. We finally get the best of both worlds and love that we can finally work on the current and future releases simultaneously. The UI is also straightforward enough that even SMEs who rarely contribute have no problem navigating between versions.

I've watched the add-on go from useful (v1.0) to indispensable (v2.0) and am amazed at the ingenuity of the K15t folks. IMHO, this is the add-on that pushed Confluence into the competitive world of authoring/publication suites at an honest price/value.

    Nice but over-priced plug-in.

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

    How does add-on pricing work?

Just like your Atlassian host application, there are two pricing models for add-ons. Pick the model that matches your Atlassian product, and the same rules apply:

    Server pricing:

    • Products and add-ons are hosted on your servers.
    • Licenses last forever and include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).
    • You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the original purchase price.
    • You can upgrade the tier of your host product and add-on licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

    Cloud pricing:

    • Products and add-ons are hosted by Atlassian.
    • You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.
    • Your subscription automatically renews every month. Annual pricing is also available.
    • Your pricing tier for host products and add-ons is automatically upgraded (as necessary) when you add users to your instance.
How do I determine my pricing tier?

Choose the same user tier you pay for in the Atlassian host application. For example, if you have a JIRA Server license for 25 users, you should purchase this tier.

Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your host application license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

Add-on purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host application.

Add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

You can extend your Server add-on trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Free Trial and you'll be directed to generate a license at MyAtlassian. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host application, and you're all set.

You cannot extend your Cloud free evaluation period. All Cloud add-ons are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation of period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the add-on.

How can I buy add-ons for my legacy JIRA or Confluence license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy add-on pricing is no longer available. You have two options for add-on purchasing:

    • Purchase the add-on at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the add-on at the same tier.
