This add-on is very helpful for our UX team to communicate ideas, designs and wireframes with our engineering team. But, for our team a few updates are essential: 1. We need to be able to configure this on by ISSUE TYPE. In our practice, InVision isn't applicable to all object types (i.e. Defects, Bugs, etc). For example, we only use InVision with Epics and User Stories. 2. Once we have configuration by issue type, then we really would like to configure by COMPONENT because not all of our teams work with UX. Some of our COMPONENTS (i.e. teams) are strictly engineering/R&D/science, so we'd like to hide this field from them to clean up their screens. 3. If no InVision design is linked, then this field should be hidden by default on the View Screens.

Thank you for your positive feedback Jeff. Really appreciate it! We will introduce more configuration options in the near future so you could tie the add-on to a specific issue type or component. Do you mind reaching out to support@invisionapp.com via email that is tied to your InVision account so we can learn more about your needs?

I love the idea and really wish that this worked. I have 2 major criticisms: 1) The preview is not visible on the Board view, only full-screen issue detail. As an Agile user, we almost never see the full-screen issue detail. 2) The mock is cropped to fit the small size of this plugin, which makes it nearly useless. At this point, the plugin really just provides direct links to Invision, no value within Jira.

Thanks for getting in touch with us Steve! We are exploring new ways to preview prototypes in JIRA and will improve the integration really soon. Do you mind reaching out to support@invisionapp.com via email tied to your InVision account so we can learn more about your needs?

We needs to have an ability to attach multiple prototype screens to one Jira issue, like desktop, mobile and tablet variant. It also needs the ability to synchronize comments between Invision and Jira. There should be an option to search and attach instead of just plain manual URL linking. We are an enterprise customer with plenty of users, our ask should be heard.

We recently rolled this out and had a number of support calls trying to figure out why click-throughs on the Inspect button in the plugin were redirecting to a login page. (In our evaluation, we'd been assured that our developer base would be able to inspect the prototypes without the overhead of designer or reviewer licenses. Previously, we'd been managing free licenses on a per-protype basis for this access and wanted to streamline the effort.) Sadly, it seems what our design team had heard from InVision (marketing, sales, support...) was simply incorrect. It seems we will need to purchase a large number of seldom-used licenses in order to provide inspect access. Or switch to a different tool. The plugin itself seems oddly implemented. I'd prefer to see this implemented as a custom field with some JQL searching capabilities. Then we could leverage issue type screen schemes to focus the projects, issue types and screen location where links can occur. As it is, all issue linking information is stored directly in plugin metadata and is inaccessible from any sort of reporting or filtering options. Aside from being unable to share prototypes in detail with the developers, the designers are happy with the plugin and the metadata it shows from the Invision website, but as others have mentioned, I would like to see updates to: * take up less screen real estate (especially when nothing is linked) * be configurable based on project/issuetype combinations * store data in reportable fields * allow indexing and querying via JQL

The plugin requires few improvements that are essential: 1. Configuring which projects use the plugin cannot be a multiple select list: this is very error prone, we have 1500+ projects and it is enough that you inadvertently click on one option without clicking CTRL or COMMAND (on Mac) to lose all the previous configured projects. I recommend two lists where you add and remove projects. 2. There is no left hand sash menu to access the plugin, you can do it only through the manage add-ons menu, searching the plugin and then clicking on configure. Best regards Claudio Ombrella

Thank you for the feedback Claudio. We definitely see how this configuration workflow can become a challenge when you have so many projects. I'll make sure your feedback reaches our integrations team. In fact could you get in touch with support@invisionapp.com via email that is tied to your InVision account so we could learn more about your needs?
