We have used the Jam plugin tool to Integrate the JIRA and ALM 11 applications. The Requirements and defects flow is working quite well . Also the support provided by the team while testing the setup is very good. Would definitely recommend this plugin for Integration of ALM11 and JIRA for defects/requirements

We have had a critical issue open for 4 months! JAM is wiping out JIRA issue type (and other fields) which causes JIRA to show a system error on any operation involving that issue.

Support for this was dreadful, even basic installation was difficult. Then when uninstalled it left my instance unusable with endless java stack traces when I tried to do things.

    Vendor response

Go2Group did not give an evaluation of JaM as we are moving our customers from JaM to ConnectALL in the near future and we are about to announce end of life.

The situation was simple: QA loved QC, and Development wanted to work out of JIRA (plus JIRA is the system of record for projects). Neither team wanted to work out of two tools (nor should they ever have to)! JaM allowed us to have each team work out of the tool of their choice. Configuring the profiles is simple and intuitive. The support team is top notch. They respond quicky, jumping on GoToMeetings when necessary and not stopping until the issue is resolved. Go2Group even sponsored training for the New York Road Trip. We enjoy working with these guys and look forward to growing with them!

We have been very happy with Go2Group JAM and has saved our QA team numerous hours. The Go2Group team has been very helpful with any minor issues that popped up and I couldn't be happier.

    More details

    • JaM doesn't support ALM 12 versions, including ALM 12.1 and ALM 12.2, you need to connectALL if you want to support it.
    • Test Case and Requirements could not be updated because of versioning enabled on the project. The code has been modified to detect it and proceed accordingly by locking, checking out, checking in and unlocking the ALM entity
    • Newly created QC objects (created from JIRA) will now populate the jiraProjectField (Step 3 of a property file) defined ALM field
    • The User Type field (Step 4 of a property file) can now be used with a custom field that extends UserCFType
