This is amazing. I watched a quick tutorial and I felt like I could jump right in. So much of Gliffy is designed to be user friendly. I use it more than anything else in Confluence. Gliffy has never let me down!

Gliffy has been great for us. It's intuitive to use, and we found it easy to import our own custom symbols. We've mostly used it for process maps, but we have also used it for system diagrams. The fact that it makes it so easy to embed links is wonderful. I wish there was a way that Confluence could detect Gliffy-embedded links so that they were incorporated in incoming link data, but the workaround for that is easy enough.

I was unfairly opposed to Gliffy for about a year, as I thought it wasn't "pretty" enough. Silly me for not digging a little deeper and discovering how easy it is to change styles/formats! Anyways, fast forward a bit and I am now espousing the virtues of Gliffy (both solicited and unsolicited) to anyone and everyone who mentions making a chart or diagram. I have personally used Gliffy for org charts, process diagrams, and flowcharts, plus our engineers use it for technical diagramming purposes. We would be a much less cohesive team without Gliffy integrated into our Confluence pages!

When you need to create a diagram, such as a UML diagram or a flowchart, Gliffy gets the job done really well. It is a Web App for creating and editing diagrams, which I use at work and have had no problem whatsoever using. Some people have suggested Gliffy is a bit too lightweight for highly technical diagrams, especially those that require collaboration to draft, but I have not found this. Maybe the type of stuff I am producing is good enough to get my point across! I used to use Visio, and then Microsoft got is claws into this one, so I switched to the Office suite which is fine, but I actually prefer Gliffy to these. Fit for purpose and this is. The only down side is I cannot Copy / Paste into my Documents, but I get around this by using “PrtScn” on my keyboard.

First time I have ever drawn an infrastructure diagram. Couldn't have been easier. The UI is intuitive and as comprehensive as many of the paid drawing tools. We use this to provide our customers with a highly visible depiction of their AWS systems 5*s (technically 4 :P)

Gliffy doesn't put much work in this plugin anymore, it is a cash cow. I have multiple tickets open in their issue tracker, but after the initial "thank you" nothing happens - no releases in months. We are planning to migrate to draw.io to see if they are any better.

TtheB - Sorry to hear you are having some issues. I would like to see if I can help. I have asked our support team to see if they can pull the tickets in question. I am waiting to hear back. Want to make sure that you are running the most up to date version. Are you on 8.0.5?

Gliffy ... simply the best tool in Confluence. I use it everyday, it makes it so much simpler to explain "a picture paints a thousand words".

Good for diagrams; one really annoying thing in the Server version is that there is no easy way to prevent Gliffy from adding "Gliffy Diagram" as a global template for all end-users creating new pages (our list of templates is fairly cluttered as it is!). Gliffy, please make this a configurable option; I ask you to imagine if every add-on manufacturer took this stance, how obnoxious would that be : (

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does cloud app pricing work?

Cloud pricing is subscription based. You are eligible for support and automatic version updates as long as your subscription is active.

When your subscription renews each month, you are automatically billed for host products and apps based on the number of users in your instance.

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my cloud pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. Confluence Cloud apps are priced based on the number of Confluence users on your instance. For example, if you have Confluence Cloud (25 users), you pay the 25-user price for apps.

The pricing structure for cloud products and apps is as follows:

    • Monthly subscriptions with up to 10 host product users are billed at a flat rate price.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 10 users are billed per user, starting at the first user.
    • Monthly subscriptions with more than 100 users are billed per user. The table above provides example pricing at various user levels.
    • If per-user pricing is not yet available for this app, please contact the vendor for further information.

If you've opted for annual billing for your host product, apps are also billed annually at a discount (12 months for the price of 10).

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

Academic, community and open source licenses are not available for cloud apps.

Can I extend my free trial?

For cloud apps, you cannot extend your free evaluation period. All cloud apps are immediately subscribed by a user, and we provide a free evaluation period. This is a minimum of 30 days and ends on the second billing cycle after you first subscribe to the app.

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server app pricing work?

Server products and apps are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and app licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If app pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing?

Apps are billed based on the number of users in your host product. The app tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian host product. For example, if you have a Confluence Server license for 25 users, you should purchase the 25-user tier for apps. Even if fewer users want to use the app than your host product license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server apps, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host product. Server apps are always free for community and open-source licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server apps, you can extend your app trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the app listing in UPM from your Atlassian host product, and you're all set.

How can I buy apps for my legacy Jira Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy Jira Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy app pricing is no longer available. You have two options for app purchasing:

    • Purchase the app at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your Jira or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the app at the same tier.
