We have been using Workload together with Fiesta for some time now, and after a bit of time understanding how it works, everything now works fine ! We have a good slidedeck for our Jira users and managers to explain how it works for us, and how we use it - if anyone's interested. To be able to have Workload acknowledge the Start date of the tasks, the setup has to specify this correctly, - we got support to understand this, and very happy about it.

This plugin has been perfect for us. It lets us quickly know availability of our developers. Developers can prioritize their work load. Managers know the backlog of their team. Sales people know what they can commit to for a delivery schedule. We no longer guess about all of these things. We don't need to have continuous discussions among co-workers. We don't need a project manager to balance the workloads. Also, it works very well. No bugs we've seen.

Doesn't work, the workload doesnt sum up correctly. My version is 7.2.5. the start date and end date configuration also failed, there's no drop-down list available.

Hello luphie, thank you for your feedback and review. We have checked the add-on with JIRA 7.2.5 version and everything seem to work. By default Workload takes from every issue the "Start date" from current day (today) and "Due date" from the issue's due date, if this field isn't set Workload can't calculate anything.

If you would like to use another field apart from JIRA's defaults, you have to create those custom fields first (Date type) and once you have them, select them on Workload configuration screens, if the dropdown there is empty is because Workload hasn't found any Date custom field created and will use the default one without the need of selecting any.

Please, to give better support and know more details about how to use Workload I suggest to create a ticket on https://jira.deiser.com/support and we will help you immediately.Kind regards,DEISER Team

Pros: - Gives you an overall view of how people are allocated - Breaks down the workload of a person in tasks and sub-tasks Cons: - You can use filters only if they are in your Favorite list - Start date and Due date filters are way confusing. JIRA by default has a Due Date field, which is not the same Due Date in this case - Creates a new entry in the top menu bar. Fiesta also creates a new one. If all add-ons decide to add a new entry there will be no space. There should have a link through a Board or Project Summary instead. - It has no integration with the Sprints defined in the project. It has with the version though. Sprint would make more sense. Thus, you have to set due date for all your issues, unless the end of your Sprint matches with the Version end date. - Charging $1000 for 500 users is a bit overpriced for what it offers.

Hello Justin, first of all thank you very much for your feedback, is so useful and full of suggestions that help us to improve Workload. We are currently working hard to have a new version of Workload with a lot of changes, more usability and integration with Agile, until two weeks ago Atlassian didn't allow to access agile data like sprints. We cannot give details and dates but in the next versions you will see many of your suggestions done.Kind regards,Workload Team

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server add-on pricing work?

Server products and add-ons are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and add-on licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If add-on pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing tier?

For JIRA Server 7.0 or later, the add-on tier should match the maximum tier of the licensed JIRA applications on your instance. For example, if you're running JIRA Software (50 users) and JIRA Service Desk (10 agents) on the same instance, you should purchase the 50-user tier for add-ons.

For versions of JIRA Server prior to 7.0, the add-on tier should match the licensed user tier for JIRA. Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your JIRA license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server add-ons, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host application. Server add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses. Cloud add-ons do not have discounted or free licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server add-ons, you can extend your add-on trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host application, and you're all set.

How can I buy add-ons for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy add-on pricing is no longer available. You have two options for add-on purchasing:

    • Purchase the add-on at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the add-on at the same tier.
