    Enforce Workflow Policy

    Prevent History Pollution

    Works with Feature Branches

Enforce your team's merge or rebase workflow. For example, everyone should use 'git pull --rebase' and unnecessary merges should be rejected.

Unnecessary merge commits, e.g "Merge branch 'master' of gitserver:owner/repo", pollute a repository's history, making it more difficult to understand the real changes made in a branch.

Legitimate merges, such as merging a feature branch back into master, are not rejected.

    More details

Rejects trivial merges and keeps your history clean and linear by enforcing a workflow which prefers using 'git pull --rebase'
