This plugin is filling a big hole in JIRA functionality! The possibility to add watchers to a components makes very much sense. The help and support from the creator of the plugin is awesome! I am truly impressed! Looking forward to new great versions of this well positioned plugin.

Works very well on JIRA 5.x, but the fact that in 6.x we can no longer use the 'Component Watcher' notification, it greatly reduces the usability of this add-on.

I have no control over this. It is due to a change in JIRA 6.0. I tried for a long time to work around it, but, it is not possible without modifying JIRA source. That is why it took me so long to get an updated version out. I recommend requesting Atlassian to include custom notification types.

It does not work for me in Jira 6.0.8 though. The user does not add to the watcher list.

The plugin doesn't actually add users as watchers on issues. When a change happens, the plugin sends notifications to a projects component watchers. So, if you remove a user/group as a watcher on a component, they will no longer be notified of changes to issues under that component. Hope that explains what is happening.
