Which level of Jira access is required to the snapshot & deployment into another instance. Currently I'm added to Site admin role in Jira cloud, still I'm not able take snapshot. Does it require only Org-admin permission in Jira to take snapshot & then deploy.

Hi Sneha,
Thanks for your question, I can see how not being able to take a snapshot, even as a Site Admin, would be frustrating.
For CMJ Cloud, the required permissions for creating snapshots and deploying configurations depend on both your Jira global permissions and your CMJ app access. In most cases, being a Jira Site Admin is sufficient, and Org Admin is not required. However, there are a few additional prerequisites that must be met.
We’ve outlined the exact requirements here: CMJ Cloud Prerequisites
If everything looks correct on your end and it’s still not working, our support team would be happy to take a closer look and identify what might be blocking the snapshot. Please reach out to us via our support portal so we can review your setup in detail.
We’ll make sure you’re unblocked as quickly as possible.
Best,

The cloud version is quite buggy. No error shown on the analyze screen but the deployment runs into error after error. Error messages are misleading. When trying the chatbot in Appfires support portal, it redirects me to DC docus all the time, even i write explicitly it's for cloud. So that chatbot is not usable. When reaching out to support and telling them it's urgent, they still take hours for each reply. After a week of exchanging messages still no solution. They found a bug but could not solve it in time. Got many misleading workarounds that were technically not possible (do you really understand your own app?). In the end we had to use another app and had a lot of manual effort. Don't rely on CMJ if you need it urgently.

Hi Miro,
Thanks for taking the time to share this, and we're genuinely sorry for the stress CMJ caused during such a time-critical migration.
You’re right to expect clear errors, reliable guidance, and fast support, especially when deployments are urgent. In your case, we confirmed a Cloud-specific bug triggered when projects are manually matched by ID instead of Key during inline mapping. That combination led to misleading errors during deployment, which is understandably frustrating.
Once identified, we escalated the issue, logged a bug and we’re actively working on a fix to prevent this scenario altogether. Separately, your feedback about the support chatbot and response times is heard and has been shared internally.
If you’re open to it, we’d like to stay with this until it’s fully resolved. You can always reach us directly at our support portal, and we’ll continue updating this thread as the fix progresses.
Best,

Would love the ability to export snapshot data outside of Jira to keep locally

Hi Kirsten,
Thanks so much for sharing this feedback! We totally understand how important it is to have full control over your configuration snapshots, especially when you need those local backups for data sovereignty or offline archiving.
The good news is that exporting snapshot data externally is already planned on our roadmap! We are actively working on improving data portability to solve this exact need. Since we are in the planning stages, we would love to understand your specific requirements to ensure we build this feature right.
Could you open a ticket at our suppot portal? We’d love to connect you directly with our product team to chat about this and notify you the moment it’s available. We’re here to help!
Cheers,
