    Configure, who can translate

    More details

The InProduct Translation plugin lets you translate specific Confluence items on the fly.

Simply select "Switch on Translations" from your profile menu on any Confluence page and start translating. Translated items will be immediately visible to all Confluence users that have that language selected.

Note: this plugin is in beta and we strongly recommend you thoroughly test it in a staging server before you put it into production.

It is possible to define which groups can translate items in plugin configuration.

When translation mode is enabled then mouse hovering over most items will turn them green which means you can translate them.

    General usage tips:

    • The language you are using in your profile will be the language that is translated.
    • All Confluence users that have the same language selected will see the updated translations.
    • Deleting a translation will effect all users that have that selected language.
    • Not all items are translatable.
    • Pages and blog posts content is not translatable.

Looks promising. Any chance of getting a 5.9.x version soon?

While I love the idea of in place translations, this plugin can't be installed on the latest versions of Confluence. Did it die before getting out of beta or can we expect updates on this?

The plug-in was installed and I did quite some translations, seems to work fine. Except for some users, instead of seeing the translation, they see the label like Spacessidebar.header.spaces.link. Also the Create popup window shows for some users the long labels. Strange thing is that some users have this problem in IE and not in Firefox, others in Firefox but not in IE. I disabled the plugin and the issue seems to have gone. As this plug-in is not supported there is not much I can do but keep it disabled.
