This plugin is unusable. - Does not support code blocks demarkated by ```. It concatenates them onto a single line. - Does not syntax-highlight code blocks, not that you can use them anyway - Does not appear to support nested lists - Indents the entire markdown document by like 100px - De-indents list bullets and list numbers to be further left than heading text - Completely ignores horizontal rules - Ignores reference-style links - Incorrectly adds <br> tags at every line break within a paragraph (it should wrap the text) - incorrectly concatenates blockquote sections together, even if there is non-blockquote text in between them - Seemingly has no way at all of ending a blockquote, so it had better be the last thing in your document This is just what I found with about ten minutes of testing. Maybe one of the markdown plugins that cost $600 per year work better, but I'm offended at the entire concept of paying $600/yr for the ability to have *MARKDOWN* in a *WIKI*. Go atlassian.

The plugin does the uglies thing which it can - it changes (spoils) original markdown. Terrible.

The support for unordered lists seems to not really work that well. Or, as a matter of fact, on our Confluence lists are not really rendered at all. We see just the "* foo" text entries, not a real HTML <ul>. And, naturally, nested lists do not work as well. But that Confluence has (basic) Markdown support because of this is already great! Should be integrated feature of Confluence with a button in the main toolbar of the editor pane. Not hidden in "other makros"

It loses empty lines when pasting markdown text into it. And it requires more empty lines than other flavours (say, the GitHub flavour).

Can I user other Confluence macros inside markdown?

I don't think so. I never built it to do this, and am not sure exactly what is required for this functionality. Maybe something to add as a feature request at: https://bitbucket.org/atlassianlabs/markdown-macro-for-confluence/issues
