Description
Kick-start your Jira
Each board will be imported into a new project with all card information transferred over, including attachments, checklists, labels, votes and comments.
Stay Agile
If Jira Agile is installed, each imported project will have an associated Agile Board. List and card positions will be imported automatically, allows you to pick up right where you left off.
Keep it Simple
Like Trello, this importer was designed with simplicity in mind. The process is as fast and intuitive as possible, allowing you to get on with your work as soon as possible.
More details
Jira Trello Importer allows you to import Trello boards, cards and users into Jira.
The 2-step import process will first request permission to access your Trello data; then it is a simple matter of mapping Trello boards to Jira projects and the Jira Trello Importer will handle the rest. It will import all of your Trello boards, cards and collaborating users using their public API, and help you kick-start your Jira! If you have Jira Agile installed, the Trello Importer will create Agile Boards linked to the imported projects, allowing you to pick up right where you left off.
The following mapping will be used for the import:
- Trello Boards → Jira Projects (+ Jira Agile Board)
- Trello Cards → Jira Issues
- Trello Users → Jira Users
You can find the importer on the main Jira Admin view under External System Import.

- Each list in the Trello board will appear as a column in the Jira Agile board.
- Card and List order will be imported from Trello.
- Issues place in the right-most list will be marked as resolved.
0.2Jira Server 6.0 - 6.1.92013-10-01Importing of Trello Lists into Jira Workflows Workflow Importing
The import process will now import Trello lists as statuses in a Jira workflow.
- The workflow will contain one status for each Trello list.
- You will be able to transition issues from one status to any other status.
- An additional 'Archived' status will be created; cards which are archived in Trello will be given this status.
- Issues will be resolved when moved from any status to the 'Archived' status.
- Issues will be resolved when moved from any status to the status corresponding to the right-most list in Trello.
This extra functionality incurs the following limitations:
- Each Trello board must be imported into a new project.
