JIRA Commit Acceptance Plugin

This plug-in lets you define certain basic rules that will determine whether a commit to your version control system will be accepted based on the issues in JIRA. For example, you can define a rule that no commit will be accepted unless it contains a valid issue key. Or you can set a rule that no commit would be accepted unless the issue is unresolved.

After a detailed research we could enable plugin in version 6.1.5. We copied plugin file (commitacceptance-1.6.0.jar) into the folders listed below: -Atlassian\JIRA\atlassian-jira\WEB-INF\lib -Atlassian\Application Data\JIRA\plugins\installed-plugins

Plugin is OK but is not compatible with JIRA version above 5.1. It is very annoying because I had to increase the version of JIRA to properly operate other plugins (Bonfire + Tempo). Please ensure compatibility with version> 5.1 (I'm currently using 5.1.6).

A vital little gadget, but really needs some loving. An upgrade to the latest plugin format, some massaging of the hooks, etc.

The plugin is very helpful, but the lack of support is EXTREMELY frustrating. Lack of support for this plugin is currently preventing us from upgrading to the latest version of Jira.

I love these 1-star reviews for supposed lack of git support... This plugin is SCM-agnostic and works great. It's maintained, and it's free. The only thing you need is an SCM-specific hook script that runs when you do a commit. The plugin's wiki provides hook scripts in Perl and Python for SVN, CVS and a couple of others. The git whiners would do well to look at the existing Python script for SVN, and adapt it for a git hook script. The only things you need to figure out are: 1 - how do get the name of the comitter? 2 - how do I get the log message from the commit? Everything else is there in the script for you to reuse. Hey, maybe you could even contribute your hook script to the cause. Here's a link for you: http://git-scm.com/book/en/Customizing-Git-Git-Hooks.
