Associate an optional Confluence page with each Jira issue

Associate an optional Confluence page with each Jira issue

Create a Confluence page for an issue

View an issue's Confluence page in Jira

View an issue's Confluence page in Confluence

In Jira projects linked to a Confluence space, each issue will have a "Confluence" tab that initially has a "create page" link. Clicking this will create a new Confluence page named after the issue key (e.g. MYPROJ-123).

If the issue already has a page in Confluence (i.e. with the same title as its own key), this tab will display its contents.

Sometimes you will need to go to Confluence to properly view the issue page or to edit it.

    More details

    This version:

    • has been updated for Jira 7.0.0
    • has been tested with Confluence 5.8.14
    • makes some internal engineering improvements, e.g. no longer requires runtime transformation into a P2 plugin

    - the documentation is really short and a installation-guide inexistent (not to mention a trouble-shooter-guide) - the fonts and the formatting in the Jira-tab is different to the Confluence-page - when the confluence-page gets too large, it will be cut in Jira resp. it will be shown in a small box with scroolbars The basic-idea behind this add-on is good, however, it lacks some basic functionality as: - configure the name of the tab - link an already existing page to a story (you can only create a new page in Jira) - One should be able to provide the location at which location the page will be created in confluence Overall: A good idea but not thought-out to the end with some issues which hinder its use.

    Hi William,

Plugin author here. Sorry you're having problems. Can you please confirm whether you have (1) created an Application Link between your JIRA instance and your Confluence instance and then (2) created a Project link between your JIRA project and a Confluence space? Both of these steps are necessary for the tab to appear.

    UPDATE: Glad to have helped!

I use v7.2.2 and I have the v 0.4.0 for this add-on. It doesn't work for me and I get this error on command prompt: " [INFO] [talledLocalContainer] Oct 11, 2016 11:19:30 AM com.sun.jersey.spi.container.servlet.WebComponent filterFormParameters [WARNING] [talledLocalContainer] WARNING: A servlet request, to the URI http://cad049:2990/jira/rest/activity-stream/1.0/preferences?_=1476199170833, contains form parameters in the request body but the request body has been consumed by the servlet or a servlet filter accessing the request parameters. Only resource methods using @FormParam will work as expected. Resource methods consuming the request body by other means will not work as expected. "

    Hi there,

I'm the author of this plugin; sorry you're having problems. When you say it doesn't work for you, what happens exactly (not just in the logs, but in the JIRA user interface)?

By the way, that error you saw in the logs is related to the activity streams API, which is nothing to do with my plugin.

Also, you seem to be running JIRA via AMPS (because it's on port 2990 and the log message has the Cargo-specific "talledLocalContainer" prefix). That's not a supported configuration for production usage. Do you still have problems with the plugin if you install it into a normal JIRA instance?

Feel free to contact me via aswan at atlassian dot com if you need further help.

    Cheers,

    Andrew
