Create a Confluence page for an issue

View an issue's Confluence page in JIRA

View an issue's Confluence page in Confluence

In JIRA projects linked to a Confluence space, each issue will have a "Confluence" tab that initially has a "create page" link. Clicking this will create a new Confluence page named after the issue key (e.g. MYPROJ-123).

If the issue already has a page in Confluence (i.e. with the same title as its own key), this tab will display its contents.

Sometimes you will need to go to Confluence to properly view the issue page or to edit it.

I use v7.2.2 and I have the v 0.4.0 for this add-on. It doesn't work for me and I get this error on command prompt: " [INFO] [talledLocalContainer] Oct 11, 2016 11:19:30 AM com.sun.jersey.spi.container.servlet.WebComponent filterFormParameters [WARNING] [talledLocalContainer] WARNING: A servlet request, to the URI http://cad049:2990/jira/rest/activity-stream/1.0/preferences?_=1476199170833, contains form parameters in the request body but the request body has been consumed by the servlet or a servlet filter accessing the request parameters. Only resource methods using @FormParam will work as expected. Resource methods consuming the request body by other means will not work as expected. "

    Hi there,

I'm the author of this plugin; sorry you're having problems. When you say it doesn't work for you, what happens exactly (not just in the logs, but in the JIRA user interface)?

By the way, that error you saw in the logs is related to the activity streams API, which is nothing to do with my plugin.

Also, you seem to be running JIRA via AMPS (because it's on port 2990 and the log message has the Cargo-specific "talledLocalContainer" prefix). That's not a supported configuration for production usage. Do you still have problems with the plugin if you install it into a normal JIRA instance?

Feel free to contact me via aswan at atlassian dot com if you need further help.

    Cheers,

    Andrew

Is there a way to create the confluence page under a spefic page ? e.g. Space / Issues ?

Hi Timo, thanks for the review! It's a nice idea, but unfortunately there's no way to do that at the moment, please feel free to log an issue requesting that enhancement and how you think the admin might go about configuring it (e.g. per project or globally, etc.).

Is there a way to set a default template to use when a page is created? When a confluence page is create from JIRA using this plug-in, it seems to create a blank page and I can’t figure out an option to select a different template to use. Is there a way?

Hi Sofya, thanks for your review! You're right that this plugin creates a blank page, rather than using a template. It seems that someone else has already logged a request for what you want. Please feel free to comment on that issue with any specific requirements you may have, although in the spirit of "Open Company, No BS", I ought to let you know that improvements to this plugin are not very high on my list compared to other stuff I'm working on.

Correction to my last review. This plugin only works with Chome browser for me. IE gives me an error that says "The Webpage cannot be displayed" and Firefox doesn't show anything. Is there any way this can be changed to also support IE and Firefox? Most of our users use IE. I would take a look at the source code, but I can't get access to it on Bitbucket. Let me know if there is anything that I can help with. UPDATE: The new version of the plugin works correctly, and is able to embed the confluence page into the issue on all browsers. Great functionality. Thanks!

Hi Adam, sorry you're having problems with this plugin. I've logged this as https://bitbucket.org/atlassian/confluence-issue-tab-plugin/issue/12/only-works-in-chrome, please follow that issue for updates. UPDATE: please try version 0.3.4 that I released today. I've tested it in IE 11. UPDATE: Glad it works for you, thanks for updating your review!
