    This plugin integrates Bamboo with Slack. It allows any Bamboo notification to be posted to a specific slack room.This plugin allows you to take advantage of Bamboo's:

    • flexible notification system (i.e. tell me when this build fails more than 5 times!)
    • commenting (comments show up in the chatroom so everyone can see someone's working on the build).

    Notifications Supported:

    • Build successful
    • Build failed
    • Build commented
    • Job hung
    • Job queue timeout

    I nice plugin that I got to work after about 2 hours of tinkering around. Some examples would be very nice: especially in the webhook url part. For instance, I used a public web-hook (an url that I got from slack) to get it to work. In the configuration it says something about a user token. I guess that in there should be a full url (including the user token), but currently it's not clear what should go in there. Secondly, it's not very obvious that a channel should be prefixed with #. Took some time to figure that one out also.

    Details

    If Bamboo fails to properly parse revision history for any reason, it will replace the user's name with the text [unknown] in square brackets. The [unknown] user has a profile and is otherwise treated the same as any other user.

    Installation

    1. Log into your Bamboo instance as an admin.
    2. Click the admin dropdown and choose Add-ons. The Manage add-ons screen loads.
    3. Click Find new add-ons from the left-hand side of the page.
    4. Locate Slack Notifications for Bamboo via search. Results include add-on versions compatible with your Bamboo instance.
    5. Click Install to download and install your add-on.
    6. You're all set! Click Close in the Installed and ready to go dialog.
