Previously we used another testing Regime that is available with JIRA. It is far more detailed and far more complex. We decided to give Testy a try provided it was (relatively) easy to setup and provided it was simple to use. Yes, we could have simply used one of the free Checklist add-ons, but we already use Structure so it made sense to use Testy. Testy requires a little thought to setup (and we may be doing it wrong), but we have setup a test folder in structure with issue type Requirements. In each Requirement issue we have a custom field (Table Grid Editor type) which is the Test Case comprising of Action and Response for however many rows is necessary. The Issue summary is the Requirement. So we have a Test Run comprising Project Requirements with embedded Test Cases for each Requirement. It's simple yet complete. It is a great add on to Structure.

I feel this is a fantastic lightweight tool for testing. I have been playing with it, and absolutely love it for more than just test. It is great for things like quality assurance as well. Great job with this. Really looking forward to pages!

Hi Marc, we released the Structure 3.0 public beta and the full public release is getting very close.

Once the full public release of Structure 3.0 is out (soon!), we'll be able to assign resources to the Testy backlog.

If you're on our product updates mailing list I can keep you updated, also I've just created a LinkedIn group for product-related discussion - I'd love to have you as the first participant! -- Robert

Hello, I really like your tool and want to use it in our project. But we use the on-demand Jira. How to use it? Please kindly advise. Thanks.

Hi Grace, thanks for your kind words! Unfortunately, Structure (and, therefore, Structure.Testy) is not available on JIRA Cloud and is not going to be available in the near future, because Atlassian now requires all Cloud add-ons to be created using a different plugin framework. If you use JIRA Cloud just to have a hosted JIRA service, there are other service providers that can host JIRA for you, and you can install any add-ons there. Please write to support@almworks.com if you need a recommendation for a hosting provider.

    Kind regards,Igor

Very neat add-on! I give it 4 stars, however, it has very good potential for further enhancements :) For example, it would be wonderful, if latest test run could automatically update JIRA status (perhaps, mapping would be configured between Test Run label and JIRA status). Also, reports based on test runs would be very useful statistics.

Helen, thank you for the kind words! :) We'll continue improving Structure.Testy, but we also would like to keep it "lightweight". Thanks for suggesting this feature on our Uservoice forum - we'll try to find the way it can be done without adding much complexity.
