Create Page helps users to create pages in the right place, with the right template and correctly formatted page title

Create Page helps users to create pages in the right place, with the right template and correctly formatted page title

Guide users through the process of creating a page

    Customise your create-page links

    Predefine the parent page

Create a “wizard” that guides the user through the process of creating a page, allowing you to predefine where the page should go, what the text should appear at the start and end of the title.

Customise the link and prompt shown to the user when adding the new page to make it relevant to your specific use-case.

Change the parent page and space, so your new pages are where you want them to be.

    More details

The Create Page macro prompts a user for a name and then creates a new page with that name based on a Confluence template you specify.

This allows your end users to be able to create pages, in a format specified by you, whilst bypassing the usual “Add page” screen.

Create Page works when you have ScriptRunner for Confluence installed in your Confluence instance. Not only does it give you access to the Create Page functionality but you can extend, integrate and enhance it with the power of ScriptRunner.

The Create Page macro fixed an issue that we were having using the add-page macro that was no longer working. Again Rafael and Adaptavist provided stellar customer support, helping us diagnose the problem we were having, in which the root cause wasn't even their cause. They also helped us with a few other issues we were having that weren't Adaptavist issues, but Rafael had prior knowledge with. That kind of support helps garner a lot of loyalty.

I'm giving this a 2 star rating because of the marketing strategy from Adaptavist. Create Page for Confluence is a great product and we’re all really happy with it. The fact you can point where a user creates a new page is a must have feature. It is such a shame we are being pushed to purchase ‘ScriptRunner for Confluence’ to continue with future support. We have no reason to have this on our environment and can’t justify to our financial department why we need it. This means we need to waste time and undo all of the hard work we have done before we upgrade to Confluence 6.0. On your latest feature release page you state “Create Page works when you have ScriptRunner for Confluence installed in your Confluence instance. Not only does it give you access to the Create Page functionality but you can extend, integrate and enhance it with the power of ScriptRunner”. We shouldn’t have to install ScriptRunner if we don’t need it. I understand the reasons why Adaptavist need to start charging for their product, but why not just charge us for the product we need, wouldn’t this make more sense?

    Hi Billy,

We've invested a significant amount of time making sure that the add-on was compatible with Confluence 6.x and also that users could extend the add-on to match their business cases. Did you know that now you can configure each variable of Create Page to be dynamic?

On top of that, we've fixed improved the following:

    • Provide customisation of variables that can be used on the Title, Pre-fix, Post-fix, Parent and Labels
    • Merged Parent variable with Space so that both can be used in a single field
    • Uniform $ variable instead of @ and %
    • Removed fall-back
    • Improved the choose title popup to make it look as the Atlassian guidelines
    • Better error handling
    • Allow a css class instead of just a button
    • Allow indent to start from a specific index

Understand also that maintaining these add-ons inside ScriptRunner for Confluence makes it easier to consistently provide quick compatibilities and bug fixes, together with new features that you might suggest. I hope you understand our decision to move it to ScriptRunner, but I'm happy to discuss this further if you could drop me an email: rfranco@adaptavist.com

Great extension and due to the excellent support definetly every penny worth. At begin of this week I also started a discussion with the developer team as some of the features of the older version have been eliminated in V4.0.2. The feedback came promptly and V4.0.3 was the reaction only one day later! Also the intensive discussion and openess for new ideas and (future) features is something which I absolutely appreciate. If all other (already payed) developers would do such a great job, I would be very happy. Therefore it is okay for me that Adaptavist decided to implement this feature in an paid addon. But now to the important things - the features and the benefit of this plugin: Differently to the "Create from Template" addon from Atlassian you can predefine the new page title with variables (e.g. Year, month, user etc.) or ask the user with a special prompt. That is perfect for any reports (e.g. customer complaints as in our case). Additionally you can specify the target in a different space. That also is not possible with the free Atlassian plugin. And last not least the create page macro is a powerful tool in combination with the comala workflow plugin as you can define complete document workflows starting with the creation of a new page just by pressing a button.

Free, but not really free any more. The "Why update to v. 4.0.3?" is not clear on that you actually need to purchase a different add-on. This just gave me a reason to work on switching everything over to "Create from Template", which is free from Atlassian, and have the functionality I need. Create Page add-on uninstalled.

    Hi Ronny,

I understand your point of view regarding the add-on being free, but understand that this is due to a limitation of the Atlassian Marketplace. If we were to make it "paid" then we would be forced to charge customers at least $10 for it, this is the minimum required by Atlassian, so customers would end up having to pay for Page Info and additionally having to pay for ScriptRunner for Confluence thus the reason why we left it free.

Also, even though it's free, it is now considered Commercial from our end which means that you get all the SLA's of a Commercial license such as premium support (answers in 24h or less) and a much more responsive bug fixing and feature requests.

We've invested a significant amount of time making sure that the add-on was compatible with Confluence 6.x and also that users could extend the add-on to match their business cases. Did you know that now you can configure each variable of Create Page to be dynamic?

OK, now another bundle with a paid addon, giving up the free version. You should've just released a new addon named "Create Page for ScriptRunner Confluence" without taking the old version out of the marketplace. More & more companies are switch to a paid base plugin scheme where you can add little features for free. If I could I would rate it 0 stars... Too bad, has been a nice addon, we'll stick with the old version.
