"The currently installed version of this add-on is not compatible with your Confluence instance (6.0.x). A free update (v. 5.0.4) is available for this add-on." ..unfortunately the update is not free!

    Hi Anne,

Firstly, thank you for your good review! It sounds like you might have encountered a bug with the marketplace. Content Formatting for Confluence should appear as a fully paid add-on as of late January. If the problem persists I would suggest opening a ticket about it with Atlassian.

We are excited about the future of Content Formatting for Confluence. The decision to move the product over to a fully paid model has allowed us to have dedicated resources working on it. This means that we can provide swift response to support queries as well as evolve the product further; improving it by adding new features and making existing feature more functional.

To read more about the move and the additional functionality that we've already added, please feel free to visit our blog.

    All the best,

We've been using this Plugin for quite a long time and also decided to go with the paid version. After upgrading to 5.0.1 we had issues with the editor toolbar which were connected to this plugin. After sending a support request we got a reply super quickly. The Team was really into fixing the problem and helping us to solve our issue. They implemented a fix for us and now everythings working fine. So great Support for a great Plugin! You couldn't expect such good service for an unpaid add-on. Thanks for your help and keep on going!

So after using this free add-on for quite some time, suddenly we must either pay $3000/yr or go back and rework every page on which the add-on is used. That seems very close to ransomware, eh? Sort of like you guys did with ScriptRunner when the price suddenly exploded. We switched to JJupin which is amazing.

    Hi Lee,

We are very excited with the upcoming features for Content Formatting and how they can help content creators augment their Confluence pages. Since we want to continuously invest in it, developing new exciting features and provide stellar support we needed to make the add-on fully paid in order to match what other add-ons are typically charging. I do understand that it is a high increase, but the fundamental issue was that it was hard to justify the continuous investment since it was for free for so many years, and as you may understand we are a business and we need to keep healthy.

I hope you understand, but feel free to send me an email to rfranco@adaptavist.com to discuss it further.

We are an enterprise organization and we use the CFM add-on extensively across 1500+ team and project spaces. We have had a couple issues here and there and the Adaptavist support team has communicated well and fixed issues in a timely manner. With our latest issue they were willing to go the extra mile and conducted a screenshare session to witness and better understand the issue. During that session we discussed a better way my organization could implement what we were doing. I agreed with their recommendations and will likely be changing over to using the ScriptRunner for Confluence add-on. Thanks for the support guys!

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server add-on pricing work?

Server products and add-ons are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and add-on licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If add-on pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing tier?

The add-on tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian host application. For example, if you have a Confluence Server license for 25 users, you should purchase the 25-user tier for add-ons. Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your host application license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server add-ons, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host application. Server add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses. Cloud add-ons do not have discounted or free licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server add-ons, you can extend your add-on trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host application, and you're all set.

How can I buy add-ons for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy add-on pricing is no longer available. You have two options for add-on purchasing:

    • Purchase the add-on at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the add-on at the same tier.
