Treat your Bamboo plans as code! A plug-in to create and maintain your Bamboo plans with a Groovy DSL

Treat your Bamboo plans as code! A plug-in to create and maintain your Bamboo plans with a Groovy DSL

Keep your build plans in sync with DSL scripts

Code in your IDE and apply the scripts from a repo

Administrate your Bamboo instance with Groovy

Specify your build plan and deployment projects with a Groovy-based DSL and the provided Bamboo seed task will create/update them accordingly. Keeping your build plans and deployment projects in sync was never that easy!

Code and test your DSL scripts in your IDE and apply them from a source repository. We provide code completion and syntax highlighting for IntelliJ. The plug-in is also able to generate DSL scripts from existing plans.

Do you have a lot of build jobs and don't want to manually maintain them? With this plug-in you can administrate Bamboo with Groovy. Maintenance like replacing a build task in all build jobs was never that easy!

    More details

This plug-in is similar to the well-known Job DSL plug-in for Jenkins. It allows you to specify your build plan configurations with a Groovy-based DSL. Simply code your DSL files in your favourite IDE with code completion and documentation, add the plug-ins seed task to a plan and link to the DSL files hosted in your source repository.

When you run the build with the seed task, the plug-in will create and update all plans and deployment projects referenced in the DSL files. This allows you to standardize your build plans and deployment projects by treating them as code.

Note that the plug-in is also able to generate DSL syntax from existing plans and deployment projects. This helps you to get started with customizing your DSL scripts.

Finally, you can also use this plug-in to maintain your existing Bamboo instance. This allows you e.g. to replace a build task in all build jobs programatically.

We analysed this addon for 2 reasons: - Migration from one bamboo instance to another - Create and manage a big amount of similar build and deployment plans We have till now up to 150 build plans divided in 4 categories, where the build plans differs just in some small points. Till now, all are setup and managed manually and we searched for a solution to manage them. With this addon we can now easily and automatically generate more build and deployment plans. Updating all plans can be done with adapting central groovy scripts. Our build plans are backup and versioned in the git repository by the groovy script. The team behind the addon help me with very fast and helpfull responses for writing the first groovy script.

    Paid-via-Atlassian pricing FAQ

How does server add-on pricing work?

Server products and add-ons are hosted on your servers. Licenses are perpetual and the purchase price include 12 months of maintenance (support and version updates).

You can renew maintenance after 12 months at 50% of the current purchase price. You can upgrade the tier of your host product and add-on licenses at any time. Upgrade prices are calculated based on Atlassian's formula (view example).

If add-on pricing changes after your initial purchase, there's a 60-day grandfathering period during which you can renew based on the old pricing.

How do I determine my server pricing tier?

The add-on tier should match the licensed user tier of the Atlassian host application. For example, if you have a Confluence Server license for 25 users, you should purchase the 25-user tier for add-ons. Even if fewer users want to use the add-on than your host application license, the two licenses should match exactly.

Do you offer academic, community, or open-source licenses?

For server add-ons, purchase and renewal is half-price if you have an academic license for your Atlassian host application. Server add-ons are always free for community and open-source licenses. Cloud add-ons do not have discounted or free licenses.

For more details about qualifying for special licenses, see here.

Can I extend my free trial?

For server add-ons, you can extend your add-on trial up to 5 times - in other words, for up to six months. Extend your trial by generating a new evaluation license key from Atlassian Marketplace. Click Try it free and you'll be directed to generate a new license. Paste this license key into the add-on listing in UPM from your Atlassian host application, and you're all set.

How can I buy add-ons for my legacy JIRA Server or Confluence Server license?

If you own a legacy JIRA Server Unlimited (100+ users) or Confluence Server Unlimited (2000+ users) license purchased in 2012 or earlier, legacy add-on pricing is no longer available. You have two options for add-on purchasing:

    • Purchase the add-on at the non-legacy Unlimited (10000+ users) tier.
    • Renew your JIRA or Confluence license at a non-legacy tier, then purchase the add-on at the same tier.
