    More details

A Windows desktop tool for recording time spent on different Jira issues. Fully integrated with Jira, for automatic fetching issues and submitting worklogs.

    Download installer here: https://github.com/carstengehling/jirastopwatch/releases/latest

Do you ever find yourself working on multiple issues (almost) at the same time? Where you need to switch between them - and after 4 hours, you don't really know how much of those 4 hours were actually spent on which issues.

Jira StopWatch comes in handy here, because by clicking a single button, you can switch between the issues that you log time on. And when you're done, it takes just one more click to submit the time as a worklog.

There seems to be some error when used with the JIRA board I'm using: The "Open issueControl in browser" button incorrectly appends the issue number with %20 character to the JIRA base url E.g. base url: http://myjira:8080 issue: CR-123 the address in the browser is: http://myjira:8080/%20CR-123 Also, can you add a vertical scroll bar if the number of displayed issue exceed the window size? Additionally, you consider vertical size readjustment... if I put 20 issues, it exceeds my screen resolution and 1. I can't click on settings. 2. I can't see the issues at the bottom.

    Hi Joshua,

Thank you for your input. The problem with "Open in browser" is probably because you've written a space in front of the issue-number in StopWatch's input field. But of course StopWatch should handle that correctly, so I'll get it fixed.

The other thing has already been implemented in the newest version 1.7.0 which will be released within the next couple of days (where I'll also get the first bug fixed). If you're curious, you can try out the pre-release of 1.7.0 here: https://github.com/carstengehling/jirastopwatch/releases

UPDATE 2016-07-22: The latest version 1.7.0 fixes both problems that you describe.

For what it does, it works nicely. For our developers who like the timer approach, it works well. Most of us would like to also have a column for each task that would let us manually enter time. For example, 2.5H for task xxxxx-22. We'd be willing to kick in some money for development of that feature.

Thank you for your kind words. Actually the latest relase (v. 1.4.1) has a feature that might meet your needs. In the settings dialog, you have the option to make the timers editable. I made this feature, because I sometimes start working in the morning, and then 20 minutes later realise, that I forgot to start the timer. :-)

Times can be entered both Jira style like 1h 15m and the "classic" way like 1.25h.

The submit button will only be enabled after pressing the play button at least once though. A slight slip when implementing this feature. But I will be releasing a new version with a few new features and some bugfixes next week, where this will also be fixed.

    Summary

    UI and Worklog improvements

    Details

    New features/improvement:

    • When submitting worklog, StartTime will also be set. The value will be equal to "now minus logged work-time". Kudos to Lee Houghton for making this PR.
    • UI now handles Windows' zoom settings much better.
    • Timers and settings are now saved continously instead of only at program exit. So no data loss if you get power-outs or PC crash.
    • Issue dropdown box will now retrieve up to 200 issues, instead of the API-default of 50.

    Bugfixes:

    • Fixed random startup crashes.
    • If issue keys are very long, they could be cropped in the dropdown box. This has been fixed, so the key column width adapts to the widest key.
