Exchange and sync information between JIRA and Enterprise Architect

Exchange and sync information between JIRA and Enterprise Architect

    MULTIPLE MAPPING

    BUILT-IN WEB BROWSER

    TASK AUTOMATION TOOL

EA Connector for JIRA 7.0 improves the mappings between Enterprise Architect and JIRA by adding the possibility of selecting several JIRA projects and filters and filtering these by name.

When an element is selected you can see the information associated with it in both tools simultaneously, or even work in Jira from EA.

Allows you for fully scheduled and automated exports and imports. Users will be able to use the Windows Task Scheduler to program both the export of Enterprise Architect elements and the import of JIRA issues.

    More details

EA Connector for JIRA is an add-in for Enterprise Architect to provide bi-directional integration between theSparx Systems Enterprise Architect and Atlassian JIRA.

The integration is achieved by manually exporting artifacts from Enterprise Architect, which are created as issues in JIRA, and importing issues from JIRA to Enterprise Architect, which are created as artifacts in that tool.

It is possible to map the entities to be handled in the import and export processes, as well as the fields of the entities themselves that will be exchanged. This allows for maximum flexibility when adapting the product to the desired processes, from managing requirements to handling demand, etc.

Although EA Connector for JIRA lets you export and import entities between the tools, it is possible that the feature you wish to apply in your context is limited solely to its ability to import or export (and not both). In this case, check the specific sections for the unidirectional integration that you need.

It's really a MUST have tool if able to get it working. I was able to Import and Export using the plug-in however updating the Jira issues with Linked documents & diagrams seems to be pain and documentation is very minimal. Is there any VDOs or detailed documentation available for this plug-in?

Getting the plugin functioning seemed daunting at first because you have to define the mappings, but reading through the documentation a few times helped get things working. I haven't been able to get the diagrams to export to JIRA, however I receive a message stating export completed successfully. This is one of the main features I'm looking forward to so hopefully I can get this working. It would be nice if the documentation covered this feature. Also I have to manually add the statuses and priorities we're using in JIRA into Enterprise Architect. Ideally there'd be a sync feature, or at a minimum a message stating that the JIRA status/proirity was not found in EA.

Hello Steven; Thank you very much for your review and suggestions. We try to improve the plugin with the feedback received and we will write down your comments. Of course, we invite you to create issues at http://jira.deiser.com and send these improvements o any other one you would like to see implemented in the plugin. We can't promise it will included, but be sure that we will evaluate carefully the proposal. The roadmap of our plugins is your roadmap :-) Thank you

Very nice and indispensable for us. We sync our user stories to a custom stereotype Requirement, as well as our risks (to the UML Risk element). This way we can maintain traceability throughout the architecture. The only reason I did not give 4 stars was the user interface which was a bit unresponsive sometimes, and the minimal (but workable!) feature set. But I am sure that can and will be improved upon. Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much. This was our first AddOn and although it's really a complement of Enterprise Architect, the seamless connection with JIRA Projects makes it very useful.

We will working now to include new features and deliver the 5.0 version before the end of 2.012. We would appreciate any comment, suggestion, bug detected or so.

    Regards
