    Subversion Plus Overview

    It bundles customized versions of the:

    • Atlassian's Jira Subversion plug-in
    • Polarion's Web Client for Subversion

    Subversion Plus was born as a fork of the Atlassian Jira Subversion plugin and it was customized to make it really powerful. Some of the customizations are listed below:

    • Lucene has been replaced by a H2 relational database instance to improve performance, integrity and support new features that cannot be build upon Lucene in a natural way. For example, all the data shown on the Jira project and issue views are fetched from the index rather than the Subversion server.... It's not longer required to delete the full index directory to re-scan a repository, no more index corruption, indexation in parallel up to 10 repsoitories...etc.
    • Most the historic bugs/requirements reported by the users like: sorting commits in descendant order by default (latest commits at the top), ...pagination (to see all the commits related to a project), ...svn+ssh access protocol, etc.... are already resolved/implemented in Subversion Plus.
    • No any 3rd party Subversion web client (like ViewVC) is required to browse on the repositories . So, you can save a lot of time and headaches to install and integrate it. All this job is automatically done by Subversion Plus which bundles the Polarion's Web client for Subversion and runs it within the Jira's plug-ins context.

    The Polarion's Web Client for Subversion has been customized to:

    • Run in the Jira plugin context and fully integrated out-of.the-box
    • It is fully configurable by the administrators from Jira.
    • Muti-domain support. The original version required all the repositories share the same server root on a single host. Subversion Plus supports repositories located anywhere.
    • Commit graphs. They show the full history (backward and forward) in a visual way. Currently, it supports mouse pan and zoom and several improvements to deal with large graphs are in the queue.
    • Statistics and reporting to see what is happening in your repositories almost at real time.
