Description
CCMailer allows Jira to track email conversations between companies and their customers, without blowing your license user limit. Each email conversation is tracked as an issue, providing a convenient place to track conversation state (“Waiting on Customer”, “Waiting on Us”, “Frozen”, etc), store attachments, and other related fields. Customers do not have to be given Jira access, or even know Jira is involved.
CCMailer works as follows: when a customer emails you, an issue is created from the email. The issue's reporter is set to a generic username, and the actual sender's email is stored in a custom field (commonly named CC). Later you can send an email update to CC-listed email addresses via a custom 'Respond to Customer' transition. Emails are HTML-formatted and can include linked attachments (solving JRA-6207).
