    Description

Confluence OpenID Authenticator allows your instance of Confluence to authenticate against OpenID (http://myopenid.com) so that users do not have to fill out yet another registration form to sign in to your instance.

This is not a Confluence plugin in the traditional sense in that it cannot be dynamically installed from within Confluence's Manage Plugins administration option.  It is really an additional jar and various Confluence patches and requires that Confluence be restarted after installation.

Although only http://myopenid.com is supported currently as an OP (OpenID Provider), the plan is to (please email inquiries@platlab.com to express your interest!) soon support making the OpenID server configurable, so that you can host your own OpenID service (through freely available servers) or use your organization's existing OpenID service.  And eventually support other providers such as Facebook, Twitter, Yahoo, and Google.

Installing Confluence OpenID Authenticator requires someone with full access to Confluence source or someone savvy enough with jar files to update Confluence's authentication config.
